Freestyle starts at 1:00 am CDT. Live on Flopro.
Aaron Cashman tonight and Gable Steveson tomorrow night.. Also, Roman Bravo Young and one of my favorites David Carr. This team looks really good with a shot to win the team title.
From Flo:
50kg

Aaron Cashman opens with Kyrgyzstan in round one, though the issue is the next round. Both guys he could see could make runs to the finals, which means if Cashman wins, he could very well be the favorite the rest of the way. One of them is Engin Cetin (TUR), the same Turk that Spencer Lee saw in the first round of Junior worlds. Cetin's first round opponent is Amir Parasteh (IRI), who was a bronze medalist last year at 46kg.

Parasteh is likely the gold medal favorite, in large part due to his stinginess. Of the 12 matches on record for him this year, he has given up just seven points. Cashman will have to capitalize on every opportunity the Iranian gives him, taking advantage of any misstep to get Parasteh out of position.

Kurt McHenry and Vitali Arujau are going for gold
David Carr and Jacob Warner for Bronze.
Cashman won his first then lost his second match to eventual finalist. Pulled back into repechage he lost. He went 1-2

Gable will be wrestling for Gold soon. Yianni won. The Russian coaches were at it again. One went to the face of an official when the Russian did not get the call in the 76KG final. Crazy.

From FloWrestling:

"Team USA has earned 6 medals, with a possibility of a 7th if Wittlake were to win. They find themselves trailing Russia by 5 points heading into the final round. Team USA will be unable to win the title but have locked up a strong 2nd place finish."

Did Russia lose points for the coaches behavior?

Nah, they don't lose team points in international..even when they pull out guns (which has happened).

How about the tournament director or whoever he is from Georgia? I have a feeling he is going to be deep into some vodka tonight if he isn't already. Pretty excited guy.

Very impressive. Seven medals out of ten weight classes:
42kg- Kurt McHenry GOLD
63kg- Diakomihalis GOLD
100kg- Steveson GOLD
58kg- Vitali Arujau SILVER
69kg- David Aaron BRONZE
76kg Travis Wittlake Jr BRONZE
85kg Jacob Warner BRONZE

Cashman and RBY were close.
Might be the best International team, regardless of age group we've sent in awhile.

Gable and Yianni become fist Americans to win back to back Cadet world champions. Only 4 others have accomplished this. One being some guy named Sadulaev.

To be accurate, only Yianni was the first. Of course that's due to his weight class completing matches before Gable's.
