Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
Out of all the wrestlers you think Rignell has the best shot???? Absolutely absurd!!
You cannot take anything away from Ringnell, he is an explosive wrestler. He has the ability to upset anybody in his bracket.
I highly doubt anyone besides Stauffacher, Luthens or maybe Diaz will give Gliva a decent match in that bracket
Well I guess we will find out on Friday and Saturday won't we Scott?

Everyone has a shot. Don't be a fool. We're talking about kids and their goals of becoming a state placer, finalist, or even a champion. Anything can happen and I'm confident that the kids from section 3AA will represent us well at the state level.

Gotta love stupid people who create new screen names just to be idiots. 3AA will do just fine in the state tournament. Many wrestlers got seeded and hopefully they live up to or exceed the seed they earned! Cant wait for this weekend!

3 of the finalists were F-MCW guys....plus they have Ringnell back. They should be the favorite...those guys are going to have the confidence and experience of an excellent run.

Assuming they all grow a bit and the team can fill in a bit, they should be tough as nails.

Congrats to all 28 participants and good luck to the returnees next year!

For sure they look like an early favorite, but that's way down the line. A lot can happen. Section realignment is coming. Any talk on teams moving or dropping to class a? I believe there are a few who could be in single a.

Wabasso will drop next realignment, they always like that greener grass on the other side of the fence.

I agree with the grass is always greener thought but i have been told they are staying where they are at, for the next 2 years. We'll see how credible my source is... Could be some major shake ups to 3AA. Last time Fulda, Luverne, Tracy, and Wabasso opted up. I'm interested to see if they do the same or what fallout there is if they stay down. Also heard Quad is A eligible now. Any teams going to get bumped up from A due to increased enrollment?

I was told by a Wabasso coach that they originally planned to be AA for two more years, but decided not to opt up this next year. He said they will likely take some heat from the public, but that he assures they will be class A from here on out.

Turns out, he's probably right. :-)

So if we assume that everyone who is rumored to go down does (quad, TMB/WWG, Wabasso/RRC). That leaves 8 left in 3aa. 4 in the north 4 in the south. Do we roll with 8, or is another team brought in? If so, who? When is everything announced?

If all of those go down, I would bet we'll see another team or two moved in.

Hutchinson is close. The Mankato Schools are close. It makes things interesting for this year's alignment process.

What is Fulda/MCC going to do. I'm sure they could go down, but will they?

This is a big what if, but we have some time to kill.

What if Willmar doesn't opt up to AAA, do they have a team that could have a shot at winning it in AA? Would they get put in 3aa? That one is a big what if but I know they opt up to AAA.

I really believe Wilmar would have won AA in 2015. A year or two earlier they were assigned to 6AA but instead opted up to AAA.

Class AA Top 10
1. Kasson-Mantorville 133.5
2. Simley 122.5
3. Waconia 72.5
4. Albert Lea Area 72.0
5. Delano 67.0
6. Fairmont-Martin County West 60.0
7. Scott West 56.0
8. Foley 51.0
8. Hutchinson 51.0
10. Mankato West 46.0

Hutch and West would be decent additions to make the section more competitive. Hutch made a strong run as a team and Mankato West has some phenomenal individuals and lose no one from this year's team. The Red Bulls had a nice showing and bring everyone back basically.

Geographically I think we would add East/West and possibly St. Peter.

True, that would make sense geographically. I'm sure they would all be fine with getting out of section 2AA as well. If we are at 8 teams after the moves, 2 teams coming in makes sense. 5 north and 5 south hopefully.

If the Mankato schools or St. Peter come in they may have to split it east and west instead of north and south.

Wabasso always opts up or down to avoid competition. And it never works.

Why work harder and compete against the teams you should be assigned with? As long as the MSHL allows teams to opt up there will be teams that jump to a different class. Some call it playing the system, some call it ducking competition, some claim they do it because it is best for their team. I think it teaches a horrible lesson, but obviously not everyone agrees with that. Hey you don't get to 800 wins without knowing how to work things.

I think there should be an additional consequence for opting up, like make it a minimum of 4 or 6 years. There are plenty of teams that are opting up for reasons other than to avoid competition and have for many consecutive years. The ones that go up or down every other year really screw it up for those that get pushed in or out of the section every time sections are realigned. It is tough on teams that are in different sections every other year to schedule section opponents. A little consistency would be nice.
