No, only 2 quality wrestlers go to state. There are at least 2 top 10ranked wrestlers at the majority of the weight classes. Numbers are down across the state, not the kids fault they have a small bracket. Every section has them.

Hence why they should go back to a 2 class system and eliminate at least one weight up top.

3AA will do just fine at state. Not many wrestlers overall, but very high quality at the top of each bracket. At 132 the 8 seed is like 25-10 and has beaten at least one state ranked kid. At 152 the 6 seed i heard has wins over 1 and 2 and is like 17-10. Most other weights are at least 4 or 5 deep with very good wrestlers. HWT and 195 are the weights that it doesn't take much to qualify, but the top 2 or 3 there are also very good.

Think they only seeded 5 or 6 at most weights...depending on the number of kids at each weight.

The section had 10 teams (should be 140 wrestlers)....it had 108.

I'm guessing if I went through all 24 sections, I think we'd see similar situations especially in A and AA.

The coaches and the corrupt MSHSL need to see the writing on the wall, 2 classes, 13 weights--it's an obvious decision. This 22 year experiment should be done....

Some real talented wrestlers coming out of 3AA. Anyone want to take a guess at how many state finalists we could see out of 3AA?

I think we could see a possibility of:
106- Jagodzinske 3-seed at 106
113- Rohman- 2-seed at 113
126- Prunty-3-seed but will have to get through Pickell
138- Anderson- -2-seed
145- Ranweiler-1-seed
160- Mortenson- 3-seed
182- Steuber- 3-seed needs to go through Buesgens to get to finals.

These are the only ones that I see having a chance of making it to the finals. Obviously Prunty and Steuber both have tall tasks ahead of them with Pickell and Buesgens. Hopefully a few kids outwrestle their seeds and make the finals!

Mortenson probably has the best chance of the 3 seeds.

They're better than good. They have a team for the next 2-3 years. I'm not sure what they have coming up so it could be longer. Great job on a great season.

I heard they got a ringer in for a teaching job, not 100% but he has a good amount of success at multiple schools with a few state placing teams/individuals/etc. He should do well if it is the hire they made.

It will be hard to replace Prunty. All around great coach. He has done a lot with that program over the years.
