bobcats are currently only North team that is undefeated againest south teams in 3AA all depends on if coaches play politics and want matchups or if they vote on what ifs? still need to get it done on the mat |

South Seedings are easy. 1. Worthington 2. Tracy 3. Fairmont North seedings are easy unless the teams are looking to get dirty. It looks like everyone has beaten everyone. Wab/rrc has beaten worthington and tmb, no one else has done that. Marshall has beaten everyone except wab/rrc because wab had a full lineup. 1. Wabasso 2. Marshall 3. Quad 4. United |

I don't get the "get dirty" comment. Wabasso/RRC is 1-2 on their half. There are at least two teams that feel they should be seeded ahead of them. South will go. 1. Worthington 2. TMB/WWG 3. Fairmont/MCW 4. Luverne 5. New Ulm 6. Fulda/MCC North should go 1. Marshall 2. United 3. Wabasso/RRC 4. Quad 5. Redwood River Valley South representatives. 1. Worthington 2. TMB/WWG North representatives 1. Marshal 3. Wabasso/RRC Semifinals Worthington vs Wabasso/RRC winner Wabasso/RRC Marshall vs TMB/WWG winner TMB/WWG Final Wabasso/RRC vs TMB/WWG winner Wabasso/RRC My preseason pick was Fairmont/MCW vs Wabasso in a toss up. Fairmont/MCW's still has a shot but lack of depth up top hurt them more then I thought it would. Edited by Inside Trip, Feb 3 2017, 10:40 AM.

United will be there and they are wrestling redbulls and luverne. United VS bobcats is currently not going to happen. I don't know the order of wrestling, but understand that Luverne vs redbulls will be the last match. |

How does united get the two seed when they are 5-6 in the section?? I don't get it... and they haven't even wrestled quad yet? They are all dreaming cuz it looks like with a healthy Welch wabasso will be facing worthington in the finals. Worthington vs marshall and wabasso vs fmcw and worthington wins it all by 15. Go worthington whoop whoop |

How can there be eight posts trying to figure out what teams were going to be at Luverne tonight and not one post giving results of any kind? We need to set the bar a little higher on this thread. :) |

ZZWorth- Section seeding is done based on how you have done against teams on your half. In theory South Team A could be 5-20 but have all 5 of those wins come against south half teams and be the number 1 seed. TFBDad- Yes, Wabasso/RRC is wrestling real good right now. Yes, if I had to rank the teams in the section they would be my number 1 (which is why I have them winning the section). The result from last night doesn't change the fact that they are 1-2 against north teams and those are the teams they get seeded against. United and Marshall could not win another dual the rest of the regular season and as long as its not to a north half team it should not have any effect on their seeding. Right, wrong, or what ever that is the way it still should go. People are involved though and nothing is a for sure with people. It would not surprise me to see them get the 1, I would not be surprised if they get the 4. The north has proven that they can all beat up on each other and nothing is a given. |

Seedlings in any sport were developed in an effort to try to get the top 2 or however many teams to face each other later in the tournament rather than knocked out facing each other in the first round. When seedlings become what's best for each coach rather than as a whole then you might as well draw them out of a hat. As a section don't we want the best four teams battling it out to represent our section at state? |

I am not sure exactly what your stance is here, but seeding without results is not seeding at all, its an opinion. Your opinion may be that Redwood River Valley is the best team in the section, the results show that is not true. Now I understand you are not saying that, but I am merely making a point. |

Seedings are an opinion true but based on a professional, a coach who is paid based on being knowledgeable about the sport they are coaching. So it's an educated opinion based on who you think is the best teams top to bottom in your section. Results don't always work out the way you seed them but having people make those decisions based on how they truly see it is what sport is all about. Otherwise draw them out of a hat or get all the coaches in the same room when they seed these so you can look each other in the face and defend your seeding |

From my understanding the way they seed is, the coaches take their team out of the equation and seed the remaining teams in that half of the section. There is no discussion among coaches on who and why they think certain teams should be seeded. So basically what it comes down to is coaches seed to what is the best match up for their team to move on and not necessarily who should or deserves to be the higher seed. It is obvious right now in the north the best two teams are Wabasso/RRC and Marshall. The seeds should be based on head to head and also how they have done against teams within the section. If you want the best 4 teams in the final four seeds should be 1) Wabasso/RRC 2) Marshall in the north and 1) Worthington 2) TMB/WWG in the south. I would put money on if Wabasso/RRC would have wrestled United Friday night in Luverne the outcome of the dual would have been completely different from the first meeting. There needs to be discussion between coaches regarding the seeding versus just throwing your seed in a hat based on what is best for your team. |

Curious when they met as they didn't wrestle in the dual meet. Ok see a 3-2 win by Ellingson recently in Mankato.

I believe wabasso would have beaten united bad Friday night. United has too many holes to compete. And I heard one of there main stay varsity wrestlers quit last week so I don't know how they are gonna compete with anyone in sections. Luverne, fmcw, Marshall, tmb, and we at worthington they have all beating united. They face quad tomorrow night along with Fulda. So we shall see how that goes. Worthington wabasso in the finals anyways... worthington 31-26 in the finals go worthington go |
