This scenario is highly unlikely, yet I am still intrigued on what protocol would be... Say it is at the very end of the first day in the individual state tournament. With that being said the bracket now has eight guys left in the bracket. Say in one of the wrestlebacks both of the wrestlers have something that would keep them from wrestling the next match (not making weight for the second day, injury, skin issue, etc.). What is the protocol for who advances? Would it be a double forfeit? Would there be a sixth-place medal winner? Once again I am aware of how unlikely this is of happening, but it is simply out of curiousity! |

If neither wrestler weigh-ins then there would not be a 6th place match. |
