In MN, we think this is important. Other states simply don't. I post on the PSU board, and I asked about FS/GR vs Folk and what is going on in their state. Here, in MN, it's pretty much widely known that Fargo and FS/GR is the focus, after Folk Natls (too late, in my opinion, but that's another topic). In states like PA, some kids are still wrestling folkstyle at clubs... Year-round. I can't even fathom it, but they really do specialize and focus on it. People in PA place more value in Disney Duals than Juniors, in some parts. In MN, this is what we do... We take our hammers (or as many as possible) to Novice, Schoolboy, Cadet, and Junior Duals. Heck, Wisconsin hasn't sent a team to SB, CD, or JR Duals. I get the PA point of view, but I have to say that as a state, we do a pretty great job at getting our guys and gals to compete in the Olympic Styles in the off-season. It's about the kids and coaches who ARE there, who ARE competing. They're doing a great job representing our state, at all levels (Novice-Juniors) |

I dont believe "the State" made any wrestler good or bad, however I do believe representing your state is an honor as 3MTA3 stated. Personally my kid loves the duals, not only for the competion and pride but also his statewide teammates. |

These are high school kids. Let them enjoy summer the way they see fit while they still can. They aren't obligated to do anything. It is an honor to represent the state but it is also a choice. |

That's the problem in many cases, not everybody can afford to pay. It's expensive. It can cost an out-state wrestler $1,000 to go National Junior Duals. I was told by a Frazee family two years ago, that is what it cost them to send one wrestler. The family stayed home. Travel cost to and from Twin Cities, the package cost of gear, food, etc. |

Not sure where they were going to spend $1000...I believe it was $375 and that basically includes everything. By no means I'm I saying $375 isn't a lot of money. But it is far from $1000. I sent a extra $50 with our son. Nena Mckee and some other parents take care of all the food. There is always a lot for the boys to eat. Nena has always done a fantastic job looking after the boys. When Patrick is done, she will be truly missed.... Edited by tr29, Jun 24 2017, 07:23 AM.

Creese stops the bleeding with a tech fall. I would think he has made an argument for OW! Especially if Minnesota Blue hangs on to win. |

Jessen is a stud. Greg is going to be just fine. Shows you the difference between wrestling cadets and Juniors. Some of these guys have been wrestling freestyle and Greco since they were very young. Greg is still developing his freestyle and Greco. Plus He does very little to no greco. |

Some ppl on here are apparently singling out Berge or Steveson or both for not participating. Something about they are obligated because they owe the state or something. |
