Starts next Sat...interestingly, they flopped it this year and are having Freestyle first? That may be good or bad for Greco numbers, does anyone have a thought on why they flipped the order?

Every inclination I got was that it would be good for Greco numbers, but we'll have to see!

I heard there was a few factors.

At the leadership conference last year they wanted more refs for fs and with a lot leaving after gr they decided to switch them around and add female's duals at the end.

Then states started to figure out the cost of kids doing both styles and they have to spend more for busses and rooms.

So I expect greco #'s to drop and plenty folks out of there as quickly as they can.

I am sure they will review the turnout and participation numbers afterwards.

Do you envision anyone else attending that wasn't at camp or vice versa?

I believe each weight can send 3 athletes and more if guys pre-qualified themselves at a regional. Popular weights sometimes have more guys at camp than allotted spots and wrestleoffs are required and some are not allowed to compete. I also believe camp is mandatory.
I hope this event is on track wrestling and not FLO, does anyone know?

Karen is correct- Camp is mandatory, even for those already prequalified.

and it's on FLO, not Track.... :-/

I'm guessing because he made the cadet World Team. I have no actual info on this, but a lot of world teamers skip Fargo.

The Allar/Dow match was crazy. Jake had the tech on the scoreboard, but the protest changed the score from 12-2 to 9-4 and he ended up losing. Multiple throws in this one.

That put him at a disadvantage in his consi semi match too, looked like he ran out of steam having to come back and wrestle almost immediately. Nice tournament none the less.

It was poorly officiated imo. Allar was still in control and should not of gone upper body with that kind of lead.
