USA tied with Russia for 1st in the team scoring after day 1. With at least a couple more of our guys likely to place tomorrow, it should be a great team race. |

8:11 p.m.: The United States has claimed its first Junior World team title since 1984. Gable Steveson claimed his third World title and first at the Junior level and his win secured the team title for the Americans. Steveson downed Iran's Naeiim Rahim Hassanzadeh 5-1 in the 120 kg gold medal bout. Steveson scored on a step-out and added two more on a single-leg to lead 3-0 at the break. He tacked on two more on a go-behind in the second period. The United States finished the tournament with 29 victories in 34 matches. |
