How many extra wrestlers in an individual tournament is a team allowed to have before it turns into a second date?

You are allowed up to 3 additional without it impacting your total events count

Thank you. So does that mean you can have 17 total or a max of three weights with one extra wrestler per weight class? For example if we are open at 106 could we have extra wrestlers at 113, 132, 145, AND 170?

No it means you can add 3 additional wrestlers to the tournament. So if you only have 12 Varsity kids you will then end up with max of 15 (12 Varsity + 3 JV).

Max 3 JV

No offense, but that doesn't make sense. Who's to tell who's "varsity" and who's "jv"? It has to be 14 weights plus 3 wherever you want guys thing right? So 17 total wrestlers.

Yes 14 Varsity and 3 JV is the norm.
If you read the question above from mgWrestling he is asking if he has an open spot can he add another wrestler.

I will try a different route. You can only have 2 wrestlers from the same school in a max of 3 weights. In those 3 weights 1 kid will be the varsity kid and do the scoring for the team. The other kid will be the JV kid and will be used to fill the bracket.

Doesn't really matter how many Varsity scoring kids you have 1-14.

Hope that makes sense.
