Our guys at the MN Training Center/MN Storm are well represented in the newest rankings

A strong RTC is a huge asset to a college program.

61kg- 9 Mitch McKee
70kg- 8 Dylan Ness
86kg- 7 Joe Rau
97kg- 3 Hayden Zillmer
125- 3 Tony Nelson

Who are the coaches? I know we were going after the old ISU coach and that didn’t work out.

Yeah, but how many of those Titan Mercury guys actually live and train out in San Bernadino? They just fund a massive amount that still live and train at their RTC's.

I don't know if another club/RTC compares to Storm in Greco... As far as a group living and training in one, central area/state (minus the OTC/NMU crews). Perhaps the Army does.

I'd say RTC's have brought USAW back around. I'd also say that they are the future. There is money in wrestling. Not a lot, but it's getting there and improving. That's a HUGE step forward for our sport. We might not be wearing jerseys and watching them on NBC weekly, but there is a definite path for a professional wrestler outside of MMA and the WWE. It's fantastic.

Surprised to see that USMC / Navy has a decent Greco team as well. I know those guys train pretty hard over here on Camp Lejeune.

They have the largest budget, (as far as Clubs) so of course the largest roster of available athletes...
that doesn't necessarily make them the most successful....

Next to WCAP, The Mn Storm has had the greatest success in Greco....

Keep a eye on USMC, They seen how Army has recruited and I seen a talented group at university nationals/U23 levels coming up.

Try to keep an eye on #3 @ 67kg Ray Bunker. Did some jits with him when we were stationed in Japan. He's a great kid with a very aggressive style. Fun to watch!

The big advantage of having an RTC is it allows top level high school wrestlers that meet criteria to receive high level training. Also allows college coaches to work with them and build relationships at RTC practices.

The Hawkeye wrestling club has a new program to raise money. Maybe something the Gophers could look at doing.

Interesting interview with Brandon Slay. He does a good job of explaining the inner workings of a Regional Training Center and their importance in developing wrestlers of all ages.
