A friend of mine and I were discussing whether or not a kid has to wrestle state gr/fs in order to wrestle at np. There is nothing on the mnusa website to say they have to do state. I’m not sure that is the case.. but can’t prove it ie nothing in writing anywhere at least that I have seen. |

State tournament is not a requirement to wrestle Northern Plains. It is open to all wrestlers. |

I was told by Dale Schmitz that you had to wrestle in a qualifier to go to state, wrestle at state to go to Northern plains and Northern Plains to go to Nationals. I asked if tgere was a medical waiver for some being cleared to go to NP or Nationals and was told no. There should be a waiver process for wrestlers with medical reasons not competing in the early events. |

To the best of my knowledge. A cadet on down has to qualify for state to participate. National teams criteria are based on placement at state. Qualifying for fargo has some criteria linked to placement at regional national tournaments. Regional national tournaments are open to any wrestler from the united states and there is no need to qualify. |
