Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
Happens all the time in the real world. It's called an "at will" state. Employers can fire an employee for any reason. Did you just miss the Bon Homme Sheriff in South Dakota that just fired his deputy who ran against him 1 minute after the deputy defeated him by a 3-1 margin in the polls.

I don't agree with it but it happens.
Right. And employees are free to get a new job whenever they like too. That's the point.
If more people got fired, the world would be a better place.

If more people quit, the world would be full of quitters.

What don’t you understand ?
You sound like an angry old man.

If we are all honest with ourselves and quit looking at this just from a wrestling perspective, the new transfer rule is a good thing. These are young men that make a decision on where to go to school for 4 - 6 years. During that time, things change. It could simply be that the school is not what they expected or was shown to them during their recruiting visit. It could be as complicated as something at home changes and their lives change dramatically. They need the ability to change if they feel it is the right decision for them. While it could mean athletes change because they don't get "their way" and the react, it could also mean they simply want a chance to compete at the highest level and they don't want to sit behind somebody. It will make things interesting that is for sure.

I think it is funny that persons are angry that kids can change their mind at 21 years old, for a decision made at age 16.

I've worked all but a few months, of my contract working career, for the same establishment, which has been 22+ years. Over that span, I've seen my fellow co-workers turn over 9-fold. No hard feelings from me.

We want to force youngsters to honor a contract and not better their situation, but adults can leave jobs on a whim, often for a better situation. That seems a bit hypocritical.

Always tell the truth. Take care of your house and everyone in it. Be organized, have a plan and follow it, surround yourself with good people. In business this is the best way to retain and recruit. Should work for college wrestling too.

Enter the generation of the entitled wrestler. Today's kids want instant gratification.
Nobody willing to work for it. Everyone wants it handed to them. or thinks they deserve more attention without earning it.
Though entitlement may play into it, I believe this to be a good thing. There are a lot of young men that commit and once they’ve done some time in the room they realize it’s not the best place for them. In the end if your wrestler isn’t happy where he/she is at, what gains will they make staying in a program that’s headed in a different direction than the athlete? I’d be willing to bet there will be a pretty good group that transfers out of Penn St simply due to having too many hammers for the spots available.

Gotta think this leads to one or more of Happell, Turk, Murin to transfer out. One probably moves up to 149 at some point.

This is a loaded change that requires complicated leadership by coaches to recruit and retain. I like what the NCAA is doing by allowing kids to have similar rights as the faculty has. Program's and schools change and now the student's have the right to change as well.
If a college come to little Johnny and asks/tells him to take a scholarship reduction he should have the right to make his own changes.
If the NCAA are not going to allow student athletes to receive income they have to make other concessions.

They are really stockpiling talent in the light weights, without really upgrading too much over what they have. Lee is obviously in a class of his own, but IMO DeSanto, Renteria, Turk, Murin, Happel, and Cashman are pretty similar in potential. I think you are right that some will transfer, especially now that the rules are more relaxed.

Let’s bring Murin over the border north

I'm actually kind of surprised they even wanted Renteria considering all of the talent they have around that weight, combined with the mess he was at Nebraska.

Justin Mejia is now going to Fresno State
So it's gone Iowa > Illinois > Iowa > Fresno State

I wonder if he hasn’t had academic issues. Because I don’t think he’s been on any campus yet.

I was leaning that way, last year when he committed back to Iowa from Illinois he indicated "an application error led to him getting a full release from Illinois."

The recruiting process and eligibility requirements have heavily favored the NCAA and member institutions for a long time. This change helps to balance the scales and make it a more even relationship.

Will we see more kids transfer “up” like Desanto to Iowa or “down” like Moore to UNI?

Drexel to Iowa is defiantly a move up, okie st to UNI is a move down(in my opinion)

What I meant is do we see more of the rich programs getting richer(perennial top 10 teams) or more of the loaded team’s backups dispersing to places they can start
