This was the Headline in the Star tribune does this rule Apply to all sports

When the NCAA revamped its red shirt rules last week – allowing athletes to appear in up to four games without using a year of eligibility – college football coaches gained roster flexibility

So if this is true a Wrestlers could wrestle the last two regular events of the season the Big Tens and then the NCAA and be a potential 5 X Champion?

I am just curious if that is possible?

I am not positive - but think it only applies to football. I can't find the official NCAA language but have read several articles talking about the transfer language change and red shirt change and all the articles mention the transfer rule applies to all athletes and specifically only mention football when addressing the red shirt rule.

My readings regarding the redshirt rule are exactly the same as yours. Applications for the rule to be applied to other DI sports is currently being looked at by the DI Council.
