Is team 2 the "A" team and team 1 the "B" team? Or are they 2 sort of equal teams? Just wondering. Seen some names that I thought should be on the opposite team.

They try to mix and match as best as possible, but it looks like team 2 is the "A" team.

I see they drew Cali in the championship bracket. That should be a good dual. It looks like Eidy had a close one with the New York heavy. Losing 1-1, 1-1.

And the NY kid did absolutely nothing. Didn't even try to hit an arm drag. Basically stood there and waited for the time to expire and won both coin flips.

Team 2 just lost to FL in the first round of the championship bracket. Have Missouri next. MO is tough.

The new rules do reward activity. I'm guessing no one scored in the Eidy match. This means that each wrestler was penalized twice for not scoring and the other wrestler received a point. If there was activity in the match, it would have been rewarded. There obviously was none.

do they use the same rules as the open world level????? These rules change way to much. The last time I wrestled the FILA rules last July 4th they did not reward activity. after 1 minute each wrestlers went down for 30 seconds.Could not turn him he got 1 point.

If you could run fast enough the first minute it could be 0-0.

how do they reward for activity??? say I hit 3 slide bys and a high dive and the kid is backing away but does not step out??
They must have change the rules again. Does last person that scores win the match?? That is how I lost to Workman ? (Marine)

In that sitatuion you gave, the referee can award points if he feels the person is backing off too much. I might be wrong, but that's what happened to Spenser Mango when he nearly beat Lindsay Durlacher. Mango would have won the period and the match if he was able to not be taken down by Durlacher, but the referee felt he was fleeing/backing up too much or whatever and I believe he gave Durlacher a point, making the score 3-2 in favor of Durlacher....who then won the match off of that call. I'm pretty sure that's how it went down, but maybe Bite can clarify.

And basically, the last person to score will win if it's tied...unless it's like 3-3 and someone hit a three point move versus three 1 point moves....but I'm not totally sure on that, Bite knows better than I do.

The problem is that the officials are afraid to call fleeing. They called it in the Mango/Durlacher match but I was amazed they did it because I hadn't seen it called all week at any level leading up to that.

If the officials would call fleeing as it is supposed to be called the rules would be just fine.

In the event of a tie, if all things are equal (we both have three 1's or one 3, etc.) then the person that scores last wins provided there are no cautions which is basically the trump card.

Checking out the results on track wrestling, what happened in the champ round. I noticed we beat California but lost to Florida. Looks like we lost out on some criteria and ended up fourth in our pool, could have easily been second. Must have been one close pool. Great job guys.

Now I like that rule. The last couple years FILA jacked us around on these trial rules. I like the old fashion beat on each other, wear him down, find the weakness and pound the $h*t out of them. They back from the fight and you are using non-shuv moves...hitting nice clean tactical level changes you should be awarded for activity.
I'm retired so I know longer have to concern myself but still can feel it pump in me bloody vains........I'll use C.W.'s tactical level changes now....................

I've actually seen fleeing called more than just the Mango match. Refs aren't dying to let the match be decided by a questionable call like fleeing though.

You could look at the par terre in two ways.

1. The wrestler on top doesn't score, and gets penalized 1 point for the other guy.
2. The wrestler on bottom executes correct par terre defense, and gets awarded 1 point.

I like the 2nd scenario better. It's not that someone on top just can't turn, it's that the guy on bottom is technically so good in defense that he didn't allow it.

When it comes to feet wrestling I would think that most people who liked the old rules would be perfectly fine with these. Takedowns and everything are still the same, and still possible. Now, though, if you hit your slideby's and things and drive him out of bounds, you get a point for it. You don't need to rely on the ref calling him for fleeing. I find that it would be more logical to try to drive your opponent out of bounds than to try to work for a fleeing or passive call anyway, don't you?

Yes, but having watched many CA heavyweights over the years I'm sure you'd agree that they are among the worst in the country when it comes to actually wrestling. From what I'm hearing the CA kid pretty much just stood there against Eidy and waited for the 1st minute to be up. Now in the 1st period I can see the official not calling it because there is not much of a trend established yet. But in the 2nd period...gotta call it if he that's all he did in the 1st. Remember that big ugly bear they had a few years ago that gave May all he could handle? The reason he was tough for May is because May always tried to score and that kid didn't.
