The coverage area at TheMat says he was -penalized for a flagrant misconduct at the end of the match procedure and was ejected-. |

I saw Wiseman lost a very close match, must have come down to a ref's decision. Anyone see it? |

I don't think there is such a thing as referee's decision. A match can't end in a tie. |

You are correct. With the new rules there is no referees decision anymore |

Ok, this is going to be a short post. I'm exhausted...been at the FargoDome since 8:15am and didn't get to leave to even eat. Cadet Greco has something like 7 AA's. Can't remember for sure. I think they still have 3 or 4 guys with the chance to make the finals. Junior Greco...20 of 36 still alive after day one and approximately 14 undefeated. Very good day overall. The kids are all looking much better than they did earlier in the year. I think we're finally seeing our kids adjusting to the new rules. MN has always had a style and it's a style that worked...and still works. However many people seemed to think that we needed to change the way we did things drastically and that's not the case. Maybe tweak a few things but not change it completely. Kids at this tournament are wrestling the same MN style that always worked for us and helped us establish our dominance in this style. And so far that style seems to be working. Eidenschink won matches today by using a two-on-one, getting good tight gut-wrenches and having solid defense. The same goes for many of our kids. MINNESOTA GUT! Ok, time to go eat. Maybe I'll tell some stories tonight or tomorrow sometime. This tournament always has it's stories. |

In addition to the Cadet AA's it looks like the following finished just outside of the placing. Wade Adams, Justin LaValle, Josh Wiseman, Matt Pfarr, Joel Bauman and Matt Spoden. LaValle and Bauman are first year Cadets the others second year. Congratulations to all. |

The reason I asked about Wiseman is because it looked like one of his scores was 1-2, 2-1, 3-3. Call me crazy, but I don't see a winner. I'm guessing there was a mistake on the bracket or something. I obviously am not as familiar with the rules as I should be, but I wanted to give some reasoning behind what would seem to be a completely illogical post. Thanks. |

Those scores are correct. Person to score last or the person with the most 3-point moves would have won the 3rd period. So either the other kid scored last or the other kid had a 3-point move to win the 3rd period. Zach was up to 121 about 2 weeks ago. Big cut. |

Congratulations to 2006 152lb Cadet National Greco-Roman Champion Travis Rutt!!!!!!! Juniors have a number of possible finalists yet and one guaranteed finalist in Brent Eidenschink. Congratulations Brent. Other possible finalists: Cody Lensing Cody Adams Jake Deitchler Pat Mahan I think we have 9 guaranteed AA's in Juniors. |

Could someone list the Cadet Greco All-Americans? I see the almost All-Americans got some recognition and that's great, but let's put up a post for the boys that "Got 'er done" There were a lot of matches that were lost with just seconds left in the period or we would have had many more All-Americans and higher place winners. |

MN Junior Greco held a 2 point lead in the team race over Florida going into this mornings rounds. NY, IA, OH and OR are the other teams in contention. It would be pretty amazing if we won it when you consider there are at least 4 former Cadet Greco National Champions that are not even here wrestling Greco for us. 9 AA's with an all MN final at 215. Tanner Weltzin Cody Lensing Zach Sanders Cody Adams Jake Deitchler Lucas Munkelwitz Jake Kahnke Pat Mahan Brent Eidenschink |
