I grew up wrestling for a small club. The people that ran the club did very well on bring in great coaches. Although the club did not have money or boosters behind them like the hi-flyer. My point is that it comes down to the will power of the student on how much he or she wants out of it. If they want alot they will work harder for. Then you'll get those parents that are trying to live through their kids.Pushing them too hard and they don't want nothing to do with the sport. Hi -flyer have produce some great wrestllers. i wrestled alot of them. i won some and i lost some .But i did learn that if the small club board members want to see there club grow they will what it takes to get a good coach. i coached youth this last year got offer more money else where but i stayed with the small club ,more 1 on1 coaching

There is a reason why Hi-Flyers is considered one of the best clubs in the state. It's because the coaches are dedicated to what they are doing. Whether you're a first year wrestler or a state champion, the coaches thoroughly go over technique with anyone who asks for help. I, however, disagree on the part about "will power." There are many people with will power. There are many people who want to do well. But...for some people, wrestling just doesn't click. They can have a great will power to win and work really hard, but some people just never develop. I think it does have to do with the individual, but I don't think will power has much to do with it. Although...if an individual who has a tendency to learn fast and adapt to a sport quickly also has a great work ethic, they can be great.

I wrestled for hi-flyers for 2 years and switched to another club this year. At hi-flyers, I was a bit intimidated by all the good wrestlers in the room and because the coaches were the ones I read about on the internet and such. It was harder to approach them with questions because of that.

I feel i had a better connection with my coaches this year because they made it a point to know my name and talk with me.

Hi-flyers has great coaches and shows excellent technique, but I enjoyed the one on one attention I recieved from my other club.

Central is a very good club I wrestled there for 3 years and the coaches always took the time to work with every individual and make them better.

Any club that openly welcomes kids that WILL NOT attend their HS for Free/Greco/metro Mons...because the wayward kids clubs have no program, or a weak one, no partners whatever....gets an A-1 score in my book! Both Hi-Fylers and AV openly welcome these kids. It helps everyone. Their own programs grow stronger because their kids wrestle tough kids from other clubs, and the kids from other clubs get the great coaching tough practice partners. I see it as a win-win deal.

Does anyone have an accurate count of All-Americans from each club (at cadet/jr nationals). Central had 4 AA's, kind of a down year.

I personally think the Hi Flyers had one of our best years ever this year. We moved to a private facility up in Rogers which really helped with scheduling. The coaches (Brandon Eggum, Chad Erickson, Ty Friederichs, Manny Rivera, Andrew Domingues, Tyler Safratowich and Dustin Schlatter) showed some great technique and ran excellent practices. We had 3 National Champions this year: Danny Zilverberg(98) and David Thorn(105) were Cadet Folkstyle National Champions in Cedar Falls and Derek Schreiner(112) was NHSCA Junior National Champion in Pittsburg. We also have a really good group of younger kids coming through the club right now that are as good as any we have ever had. Many of them will be the top names in the state in 4 or 5 years.

The dynasty and shinning wizards weren't in competition with anybody, because any fool that attempted to take on the task would simply be dominated!!
