Just wondering who gets invited and honored. Do the All-Americans from Fargo get invited?

It's an open banquet that anyone can attend. Those that will specifically receive an invitation are those that are getting a specific award...such as Triple Crown, Top Ten, etc.

Are those receiving awards just s specific age group? I didn't know there were too many triple crown placers, and when you say those in the top ten, does that mean those who got on the podiom at all the USA Nationals and got all-american awards there?

Top ten would be the top ten rated cadets and juniors in the state. Triple Crown winners are the state winners.

What tournaments were used for the top 10 awards for Cadets and Juniors. Will it be the same next year?

For the most part it's been the same for a number of years. National tournaments (Fargo FS/GR & Cedar Falls folkstyle), USAW Regional tournaments (northern plains for example) and MN/USA state tournaments.

How is top ten cadets determined and how do we find out who there are, or do we have to wait til the Banquet?

It's not announced until the banquet. At the banquet those that made the top ten will receive a t-shirt and placque recognizing their achievement.

I was fortunate to be at the MN/USA banquet Sunday. The meal was great and the ceremony was interesting. Tons of door prized were handed out. It's nice to see guys like Gordy and Dan taking the time to celebrate the accomplishments of some of Minnesotas finest athletes. It really shows the dedication and love they have for this sport. Thanks to the many folks and sponsors that make this happen, especially Donita.

i'd just like to say greats Stars r shining for those not mentioned. Especially those who went to Nationals for the kids.

You ALL did an awesome job. My heart broke many times but you ALL Did well in Green Bay!!!!!!!

This Banquet at Fort Snelling didnt tell the whole story!

If I had my way...You All Would have been Honored for representing our State and the sport of Wrestling!

Keep your chin up and keep Wrestling...

From a Mom who believes in all of yous not mentioned! Keep striving and KNOW Somewhere out there there r those rooting for you!

Ready? Wrestle!!!!!!

This is an awards banquet. We hand out MN State awards. Not sure what you're getting at but every award we hand out was mentioned there.

Or are we supposed to bring in every wrestler who received an award sometime throughout the years so that we can recognize them for getting recognition?

I guess I'm not sure what your point was in that post. Did we do something wrong?

Sounds like it is a case of "the poor little kids" and where some people think there should be no winners or losers. They are "all winners". And they are in a way. But an Awards Banquet is just that. An AWARDS Banquet. Where the TOP kids are awarded. Everyone gets awards at tournaments. This was for the kids who did the best and possibly worked the hardest in the state.
I guess it looked to me like alot of kids were recognized. You can't hardly mention every kid that wrestled from Minnesota! This can maybe be something to work for for 2007!

yikes, I never got that vibe from the above post at all... ..

I hope she was referring to those who trained there a**es off; specifically those who went to Nationals and didn't make the cut. A lot of good wrestlers went down to Cedar Falls and perhaps she is acknowleding their efforts. This forum IS the place to do that; I agree the banquet would be too long if we had acknowledge everyone......

At least that is what I get from reading it   ...

Of course I have never been labeled as the sharpest knife in the tree... :D  :D

RO RO Scooby....I was looking at it lightly and very shallow.......does this mean I'm a shallow person and care free.......dang my wife was making sence after all but as always I never liston to her  could be why the back of my head always hurt

I'm guessing not to read into it........I wish I could have been able to attend. I was at mine my senior year and I had a feeling like that of being a king to be on the list. Sat next to a good friend that was not on the list and think he had more fun than the cat that was Mr.MN Wrestler of the year.

I had an open seat next to C.W.......dang I had my chance.........he is so cute!

XpuckFreak.....I'm think we may be from the same forest.........................
........I'm not the brightest axe on the tree either:o  :o
