Warmup, Technique (best there is), live wrestling & cool down kids come from as far as JCC. More come in the early stage then it slims down unless there is a big tournament on the horizon.

I attended these practices last year and plan to again this year. I really thought they were run well. Gordy Morgan does a nice job doing them. You also get some great wrestlers to practice with.

Marty Morgan does a nice job doing them.

I think you mean Gordy Morgan does a nice job with the Monday Freestyle practices. Dan Chandler runs the Wednesday Greco practices.

Question for someone in the no (CWill?): Do Greco practices now consist of a large amount of reverse lift training since the rule chance two years ago? I loved Chandler's practices when I was in hs, but never wrestled under the new rule. The reason I ask is b/c I have a cadet age brother who wants to wrestle in the off-season to get better for next year but i'm wondering how applicable reverse lift training is to wrestling folkstyle.

Yes, 1st year FS/GR wrestlers can attend.

Obviously he does spend time every day working on reverse lift techniques however he still spends a large amount of time working on the techniques from the feet like two-on-ones and other upper-body positions/techniques. I don't think he's spending any less time working from the feet than he used to. From the mat it's still a lot of gut-wrenches with a few other things scattered in. If you don't plan on wrestling in any greco tournaments just look at the reverse-lift part of the evening as 10-15 minutes of weight-lifting.

Never been here but think my boys might enjoy it. Can you tell me where at Augsburg to go? And, can we just show up, or have to pre-register? Lastly, cost?

Thanks

PS. I found the info on the MN/USA website. Looking forward to it.

If you haven't found out yet, the practice tonight should be at the Si Melby Hall, which is located at 715 23rd Avenue South, Minneapolis. Information on Si Melby Hall can be found here:

There should not have been any schoolboys there. They are not eligible to be at these practices.

If they are allowing Schoolboys to go, it would be great to know. We have followed the RULES and not attempted to attend.

Either open it up, and let all School Boys attend, or regulate it, and don't let any....Which is it?
