The current class of cadets and juniors had to wait to practice up at Augsburg and now that they finally get their chance and they have to compete for mat space and technical help with novice and schoolboy wrestlers. If the room was empty then it would not be an issue but this is ridiculous and potentially dangerous. Cwillaert you said “It is a Junior Regional Training Site however Cadets are permitted to attend.” Then you said “there should not have been any schoolboys there. They are not eligible to be at these practices.” Cwillaert they are allowing schoolboys to wrestle and it is at the expense of the current class of cadets and juniors. Cwillaert are you not reading the other posts: Heavyweightdad If they are allowing Schoolboys to go, it would be great to know. We have followed the RULES and not attempted to attend. Either open it up, and let all School Boys attend, or regulate it, and don't let any....Which is it? Thisshowwedo im not saying it was the small kids, but some just would not shut up when gordy was talking. its just too packed in there Ride Hard Boy Rooms getting fuller every night! Time to get the young guys (schoolboys) out ya think??? |

It shouldn't be Gordy's or any other staff members responsability to kick the Schoolboys out. The parents should have the respect to wait their childrens turn. There are plenty of great practice sites for the younger wrestlers. Parents, please show the respect the current Juniors and Cadets showed their upperclassmen. Your kids' time will come soon enough.. Believe me seems like it's over with a blink of the eye. Gordy is aware of this problem, so you may want to save your self a trip next Monday.. |

I will be attending Wednesday nights practice. Any wrestler who is not a Junior or Cadet will be asked to leave. To the parents of all schoolboys and younger...please do not bring your kids to the Junior Regional Training Sites. I don't like being the one to ask them to leave but will do so. MN/USA Junior Regional Training Sites are open ONLY TO JUNIORS AND CADETS! And to answer one other question (Cwillaert are you not reading the other posts) no, I hadn't read those. I glance through topics but by no means do I read every post on every topic on this forum. If you have a question or think I need to specifically read a post or address something please feel free to email or pm me. Chris |

My stance on issues like this ....my personal stance not representing any other formed practice but my own.......WE DON'T BABY SET!. This is not the time to bring the family and hang out in the corner and visit. I have told parents to leave as well if they are talking over the coaches....or talking at all. If parents are taking one inch of mat space up or jamming the door ways they need to visit someplace else, go get some groceries, hit Meanards or get the paper and hit the lobby. Juniors first and formost.......then cadets.....as they fit in and at some point if it is still over filled pick the heard...thin them out. What a great problem.School boys and below.......don't make some one have to tell you. What a great problem....what is the size of the room, as big as the UofM??? I can hear some parents right now.....I cannot find some one to watch my baby(s)..........you can....drop your kid off at the door.........go spend some one on one time with your baby......BOND 4 a hour and half! Just think of all the memories you'll have. Let the Masters Bond with your older Baby! :P Sounds like things will get solve here shortly! C.W. with the B and C! |

I was there on Monday and it was very crowded, but it looked like to me the room consisted of almost all cadets/juniors. I suppose there may have been a schoolboy or two there, but the crowded conditions comes from more and more cadet/juniors realizing what a great opportunity this is. They checked on my son last year because they thought he looked like a schoolboy. He did look like a schoolboy, but he was an 8th grade cadet and NO he was not talking when he should have been listening. There are quite a few 8th graders who are cadets not schoolboys. |

I am in awe when I observe in the wrestling room. What a wonderful opportunity for parents to see what wrestlers are doing. Please don't deny parents to chance to observe and learn. When I observe - I learn - making me a better fan
:) I understand what you say about the side conversations - I also see some parents as a distraction because their wrestler is always looking to them for approval or side coaching. Possible solution: Is there a way to make the north wall is along the hallway as an observation window? I think that would be a great way to allow parents to watch (and fans of Augsburg wrestling to watch during the season!) without interfering. I also know that in about a month or so the numbers drop like flies on a hot summer day and the room is less crowded. (Although the temp in that room some nights already are like a hot summer day!!) |

The crowded situation is good in some ways. It shows just how good the training program is at Augsburg. It shows how popular the sport of wrestling is in the state. I know some wrestlers had traveled several hours just to be there for those training sessions! I'm glad this program exists. I would like to see something like it available for schoolboys. They wouldn't be trying to get in if there was not a need for a program like Augsburg for their ages. |

I believe that Augsburg is a tad bigger than the U's room. Perhaps there should be a Schoolboy practice at the U and some of the Cadets can go over there. I assure you there are quality schoolboys out there as well and it really is up to the coaching anyhow. |

I Agree, They really need to control the numbers and if the paractice is for Juniors and Cadets then keep the little guys out, Some one could get hurt and they need the room. So If you have a child that is younger then a Cadet, there are other places to go. |

I think the Auggie room is bigger than the U of M room by a fair amount actually, but I'm not sure on the exact dimensions. |
