If I just read mmajunkie correctly, he just won Yamma's 8 man hvywgt tournament, beating MARCELO PAREIRA, RICCO RODRIGUEZ, and CHRIS TUSCHERER enroute to the championship...

This is correct. I was unable to watch this show. I would have loved to see Travis and Chris T fight. Both of these have Minnesoat ties. Travis won last night, but I think he is going on his downward slope of his career. Chris Tuscheur is definitly an up and comer who has a great chance to hit it big. I just love to watch these Minnesota guys doing great things in MMA.

Just read a week or two in the paper that he has signed a three fight deal in japan... i believe one of the fights that he has signed is with the japanese fan favorite Fujita

Travis is great. He got an awesome TKO win over block-headed Fujita. I barely managed to get up to the ringside just as he got the finish since he did it in just over a minute.

Its great seeing Travis back in the saddle again...I think him abandoning the weight loss experiment was a good idea....I am sure he will excel now that he is back where he is best suited.

I was reading an older FightSport Magazine from say... May-ish? And he was featured in the "On Form" section for winning something like 8 straight?
Quite ironically, Tommy Speer was on the opposite "Not On Form" side. But getting exposure like that with 2 SE MN MMA athletes was kind of cool. (although i was wishing Tommy was on the other side accompanying Travis.)

Well, I think I'd rather not be in there than be in the "not in form" section. Good for Travis. I don't get to see many magazines (not even the ones I'm in), but it's good to hear about the local guys getting press.
