Some of you have done the schoolboy national duals before.

I understand you get quite a few matches. But what level of competition can you expect compared to say the Northern Plains Regional? Is every kid that good or better?

I was thinking it might be a different mix.

The competition level @ schoolboy duals is higher than @ Northern Plains. Most of the wrestlers are top wrestlers in their own state. Northern Plains allows kids that have placed in the top 6. Last year most of the boys had 15+ matches against the top kids from the states represented. It was very intense competition through out the entire tournament.

A wrestlers first year there is usually very educational. There have been some pretty good wrestlers from the state that get the crap kicked out of them in their first year. It is usually very physical. Guys from PA and NJ have been shaving since they were 12.

Thanks schoolboy coaches for getting information about the duals at Forest Lake. I talked to a mom that has a first year freestyle wrestler that is a heavier schoolboy. I told her to check out the information sheet on the wall with the brackets. It is a great experience!

Is there someone we can contact now? We were unable to be at Forest Lake yesterday, so we missed out on any information. Or if someone can post it here, that would be great.

Minnesota has done very well at this event last year we were in the finals for both Greco and Freestyle and our second team did very well also. The Greco team lost to Illinois by a single point for the consolation championship. Our Freestlyle second team did well also but I forgot how they finished. Its hard to believe that it is almost that time again. Good luck to all of our Duel Teams from Minnesota Schoolboy, Cadet and Juniors Im sure you will make the state very proud again.

2nd team took consolation bracket Runner Up in BOTH FS and GR last year. (lost very close finals matches)

1st team took 2nd in both styles

If you wrestle every dual you would get 16 matches, (8 each style) however they do bring alternates at each weight if they can, and get them matches as well. (kids get injured and beat up, it is very intense) And it is significantly tougher than Northern Plains or Nationals. (top 2 kids rather than top 6 or open, in some states, for example, whoever hosts the Northern Plains, Natls every year will have a high percentage of kids who go because they are local, not necessarily the best.) Yes, you will get the top kids as well, but not every single kid being the top. (NP and Natls)
At SB duals, every kid you face is the best from their state.

As for info, last year they had a meeting at state with all the SB kids, and I am guessing they will again. This meeting pretty much gave out all the info. They know not everyone was at FL Sat.

I found the results from last year, but under SB FS Duals.
