I'm waiting for the freestyle results but I did notice Hoeppner is wrestling freestyle and greco at 160... he wrestled 140 for state and was certified and wrestled 135 just a few months ago.. what is he doing up there with those big guys?

My son wrestled him at Junior State and he was very good. Every bit of 160 lbs. It amazes me how much some kids cut. Our 103 is now at about 140-145 lbs!

If he fills out that long frame he could do a lot of damage up that high!!

OK, he is looking bigger I guess and does have big feet so...

Anyone have any results or am I ahead of myself again? I see the greco is going on so maybe tomorrow.

Any interesting greco results for these kids?

Mincey 1-2...ouch. Looked like Minnesot took quite a few titles though.

152 was stacked and I'm guessing he wanted to place higher than he would of at 152. 152 had Janssen, Wiseman, and Begin, not to mention all the other wrestlers from the st. cloud area. My guess is he wanted to place and will go down to 152 at nationals with Janssen, Wiseman and Begin going to 145.

152 also has Weatherman and Nicholson, two Iowa state champs. Weatherman was also on the Clash all tournament team.

Steinhaus sure got a tough draw at 160, St John and then Carew. Could be a short day for him he already lost to St John.

Seeing as Wiseman was not there and Begin was at 45 your probably right. He thought he had a better chance with St. John, Carew and Steinhaus.... and the other bigger stronger kids.

Mincey did take 3rd in freestyle. I would guess Mincey has wrestled greco before... I just don't know when and where.

160 was stacked. Iowa has some very good wrestlers but it seems like 4 of their top 10 wrestlers all weights combined are at 160.

All in all some good wrestling, some good results. I would have like to seen a few more champs from Minnesota but we did well in the lower weights and had some bright moments in the upper weights. I guess everyone learned they have some things to work on before Fargo and will have ample time to get better.

Good job and good luck.

I wasn't referring to Iowa I was talking about Freestyle State. 152 was the most stacked weight in the tournament with 125 being a stacked also. All the weights were tough down in Iowa.
