I'm hoping for three ground and pound fights with the wrestlers winning all three. Tito over Machida Jardine over Silva Sherk destroying BJ |

Nothing personal. I just want to see some pent up aggression released, and unfortunately BJ is the man who is going to receive it..... I think. If I had my choice, I would pick someone like Frank Shamrock. Who I know is a pioneer to this sport and all that jazz, but I don't like to see guys run their mouths in the octagon. Go ahead and run it on the outside, but then shut it when you're in! |

I wish for all three to happen as well.. I truly believe that Tito and Machida will be an absolute snore fest....Machida has a tendancy to make fights more boring than they should be....Tito will probably win a split decision.... Jardine's style is just made for Silva....Jardine constantly ducks his head when he punches....look for Silva to secure an Mui Tai clinch and subject Jardine to total knee buffet.....early 1st round stoppage. Bj will win the first two rounds of the fight handily....but in true BJ fashion, he will blow his wad in the first two rounds and Sherk will storm back for a ground and pound stoppage in the fifth round... Two out of three ain't bad; so sayeth MeatLoaf.... |

I thought Machida was outstanding in UFC 79. But then again it is the only fight I have seen of his. But I have heard before this that he is great jiu-jitsu guy, and he proved that in his win over Sokoudjou. So I'll go with Machida via RNC round 2, Silva via unanimous decision, and Penn via armbar round 3. |

Good assessments. I think Jardine will have a good chance not becasue he is better but because his coach (Greg Jackson) is known for having great game plans and exposing weaknesses in opponents. That being said Silva has been working with X-treme Couture so maybe his takedown defense will be improved and he'll go back to the Axe Murderer that we remember from pride with brutal knees. |

...you bring a good point up about Jackson....he is probably one of the best strategist in MMA...I am sure he will have Jardine as prepared as humanly possible...but he will have to make drastic changes in Jardine's style...maybe we will get a full serving of what Jardine knows about jits....I have a funny feeling he will be on his back often in this fight. |

First of all I am a huge Sherk supporter....congratulations Sean on a great effort...Just a bump in the road; you will come back stronger than ever. I just don't understand the strategy the put together for Sean....its started off the way I figured it would....Sean going for the take downs and BJ defending like a demon....but he should have continued that pace to wear BJ down. He wasn't winning the exchanges on the feet...the fight needed to go to the ground. Even if Sean was on the bottom pulling guard, it would have made BJ expend way more energy. BJ was already sucking wind at the start of the third round. I know its easy for me to sit in my big comfortable chair and forumlate opinions after the fact....but I have been following this sport long enough to recognize when a bad strategy gone wrong. I still believe Sean can beat BJ. |

Well, the good thing is that in MMA one loss isn't a career ender like it can be in boxing. Most of the top guys at each weight could do a round robin toruney and all come out with pretty similar records. IMO, it's a coin flip when these top guys matchup, plus or minus whoever has the hot/cool hand at the time. Sherk might fight Penn another time an dominate him the same way. |

They way it looked Sherk could not get Penn to the Mat and because of that he got run. Penn was just tatooing him all night and Sherk can't beat him standing up he has no reach. I was suprised Penn fought off his attemps to get him to mat so easily. It was seemed like Penn stopped him a couple times he quit and resigned himself to becoming a well chisled punching bag. I give him props for even being able to talk after he took that knee to the Noggin. That was a brain cell killer. |
