Isn't the rule that you HAVE to be a SB, 94-95 birth years to be on this team? No bump ups? I am pretty sure OK has a stud that just finished 5th grade on their FS roster born in 96, he is definately in the top 1% in the country...do they check DOB's? It could be a factor in who wins it all. I am aware that 9th/10th graders that are Cadets can wrestle Jrs, but I don't think ANY Novices can Wrestle SB duals, or any SB's can wrestle Cadet duals. Can someone confirm these rules? |

Remember that grade doesn't matter. It's the year you were born. Some kids can be a grade behind most kids in their age group because they have a late in the year birthday or their parents just felt it was better to keep them back a year in school. A "96" birthday isn't allowed to bump up to wrestle schoolboy. |

the 144 lbs match must be in quadruple overtime as they have not updated the score for nearly 30 minutes Either Austin Lubinski or Dakota Yarger are currently running sprints against Ryan Cone to determine the winner. Actually Cone and Lubinski never ended up locking horns in Grand Forks...there freestyle match was exceptional however.....Cone ended up winning a nail biter |

Round 2, MN Gold VS NJ, we won first 2 matches, that was an HOUR ago, nothing updated on Track wrestling... SLOW! As for weight dropping, MN does LESS of it than most teams! A 5-20 lb drop per kid (depending on weight class, is standard, this is the toughest tourney for this age group, tougher than Natls, guaranteed.) |

Top 2. It is really fair how they do it. I love the format. They take the top 8 from last year and seed them 1-8 in a pool, 2-7, in a pool, 3-6 in a pool and 4-5 in a pool and randomly draw in everyone else. Then they take the top 2 per pool and they are in a 8man RR to determine the winner, which is great because different teams match up differently... guaranteed 7 matches. All the rest go into a single elim straight line bracket, you lose you are done. Last year Marroon made it all the way to championship cons. for both FS and GR...it is tough, because if you lose you are out. Just received another call, MN Gold beats NJ...HWT TBD but mathimatically we have it. Looks like Marroon is kicking butt as well. Everyone can go have lunch or get back to work, 1 hour break before they start the next round. |
