I love how you guys are sitting at home, typing on your computer trying to call out high school kids. These kids have probably done more in the last 3 months than you have in the last ten years! Instead of putting these athletes down why don't you just say good luck to all wrestling and have fun going after your dreams.

If it were me, I would go where I thought my best chance was too. Call it dodging, call it what you like. I call it going to the show!

Yep - never have seen shifting around in weights this time of year!! This is completely new - and I am guessing there is none of this going on in other sections! Obviously, several people on here have a sore spot for losing out on their wrestle off! Either you have not been involved in wrestling very long or you need to get over the fact that your kid did not win the challenge. This is a team sport & a individual sport!! And yes, Jake Short is a little unconfident in his wrestling ability! He did wrestle 145 a major portion of the year - and then went up to 152!! (Hope he gets his confidence back before he wrestles for the Gopher) :) I do not know of a single team that does not have wrestle -offs at the end of the year for individual sections! Moving weights is so popular that the High School League has a rule for it. You must make 1/2 your weigh-ins after January 15 for the weight you plan on wrestling at sections!! Why do you think they have this rule - for the kids with no confidence? Do not think so - or that would include 50% of the kids in Minnesota!

To me I would hate to see a kid not make it to state that has been there before, has a great chance to place at the next weight, has a shot at winning the next weight!! Why not have the best of section 2AA be on display at the excel? I personally like how they spread out our elite athletes. Zilverberg, Brownlee, Madson, Hartwig, Parriott, Selly Fogerty, and Schmidt all have been to state before and most of them placed at state, wouldn't you want the best wrestlers with the best chances to bring home gold at the big show?
