All I can say is WOW for Tucker winning state at 106.

Congrats to Tucker and Hartwig on winning State. Way to represent 2AA

Congrats to all the other place winners from 2AA.

SW placed 5 out of 5 entered. Yeah, I am SW homer, but all their guys placing is impressive.
SW knows how to turn it on at State, always have and always will!
Hmmm...wouldn't want to tell that to the '96 team or the '03 team. Not to mention countless individuals who should have "won"/"placed". Recently they have done well, but they have always had a tough time down at state.

If I read the new section assignments correctly, 2AA loses New Ulm and adds Chaska?

Chaska has 7 maybe 8 wrestlers total shouldnt cause to much of a ripple in the 2AA world.

Also losing 2 State Entrants as well.

Its a little early to guess on individuals as we know a lot weight shifting will happen. I will top 4 teams will be Huch, NP , GSL-LP, and Scott West.

I see it being NP, then Hutch, Scott West, then GSL-LP in that order for placings in section!

Just to get things started, here are my thoughts on kids to watch. There are quite a few freshmen and sophmores who were in that 120 to 138 range last year. At that age some can really grow and others have pretty much peaked so I make no represenations as far as accuracy of the weights, just going on what the last years weights were and what some of them wrestled at over the summer. It will be really interesting to see who the new kids will be. Classes that have more then one wrestler are not in any specific order.

106 Tucker Sjomeling (9) Delano

113 Jacob Jewett (12) Glencoe
Jackson Sweeney (10) Watertown

120 David Flynn (11) Scott West
Chris Pettis (10) St. Peter

126 Riley Drew, Hutchinson
Michael Donnay, Glencoe

132 Zach Siegle (12) Scott West
Jacob Steinbauer (12) Waconia
Nick Knutson (10) New Prague

138 Griffin Parriott (10) New Prague

145 James Berg (10) New Prague
Jonah Johnson (9) TCU

152 Mason Brownlee (12) TCU
Richard Reinertz (12) New Prague

160 Andrew Fogarty (11) Scott West
Josh Selly (12) TCU

170 Chris Schmidt (12) Hutchinson
Joe Heinz (12) New Prague

182 Gannon Jordahl (12) Hutchinson

195 Dalton Clouse (12) Glencoe
Paxton Jordahl (12) Hutchinson

220 Nathan Preston (12) New Prague
Jake Filk (11) Hutchinson
Joe Ernst (12) Watertown

285 Alex Burns (10) TCU
Kevin Kneisl (10) Delano

Cattle, are the same 6 teams at N-P the first part of the season? It's always a good start to the year.

Yes, it is the same six teams. December 7th will be a rematch with Cannon Falls, St. Peter, Sibley East, New Prague, Waseca, and
Chatfield. It will be a great day between several very good teams.

There should be 4 ranked teams. N-P,C-F,S-E and Chatfield. It will be a nice challenge for all those teams.

Will Brownlee be 152. A two weight class growth spurt his senior year? Maybe, but I doubt.

Lots of tough young kids at 106. I'll put some names out there, Im sure I'm missing quite a few names. Many are maybe still too light, or too heavy now, but tough kids either way.

Scott West has Kelvington. Has to be considered a favorite to go to state if still at 106. If not Stauffacher or Huss brothers will fill in nicely.

Waconia probably has at least a half dozen kids that could make good 106 pounders. Will be some good wrestle offs in that room!

St Peter has W. Gillette that will be tough, was undersized last year.

Chanhassen/Chaska might have Olevson and good 7th grader Boyum. Not sure which kid is which team/will be in 2AA.

Anyway, some names to watch at 106 this year and/or next year. And I'm sure I left several off!

I will take a stab at it, even though I am not sure of all the guys who wrestled JV for SW last year, and current weights of returning wrestlers:

106: Stauffager
113: Piche
120: Kelvington
126: Flynn
132: Backlund
138: Siegle
145: Storlie??
152: Abraham
160: Fogarty
170: Dahlke
182: Schultz
195: Carter
220: Staples III
HWT: Shatz (spelling)

Just a starting point based on last years information
