I can tell you Michale and his parents were not upset about the circumstances surrounding the true second match. The person that confronted Mason in the hall was not speaking for the family and had a laps of judgement at an emotional time. I beileve if she had the chance she would appologige. The confrontation between Michales mom and Masons mom was a reacton to what Masons mom said in response. Michales mom didnt know what had been said about Mason and was only defending her son. I know she felt terible about the whole confrontation. It was a bad situation for all involved and shouldnt have to hurt either of these familys more than it already has. |

Scott West were ranked #9 on Nov. 29, effectively third in their section, and I doubt anyone saw that as a slight. They improved steadily and for them to make the state finals was quite the accomplishment. Coaches Ripley and Stauffarcher have been honored with AA Co-Coaches of the year in I believe 2009 and again in 2011. Awards like these seem to get spread around, so this may hurt their chances of getting it again this year, but in my opinion the SW coaching staff has never deserved this award more.

I also have to show some love for Assistant Coach Al Flynn. It would be impossible to overstate what this man has become to mean to SW. He coaches the kids program, Panther Cubs. He's a middle school coach, and is one of the head coaches for the freestyle and greco club. The hours he's given to this program is anyone's guess, but I doubt he's been compensated $.25 an hour. He just cares about kids and SW wrestling. So thank you, Al. |

Good luck to all the 2AA individuals this weekend. I had the pleasure of meeting some parents from other 2AA teams yesterday and enjoyed my conversations with them. This is a great sport we support. |

Nope 0-4 now. They were underdogs in all 4. The most notable teams that were favored to win during the season were 96, 03 and 07. They were also close to beating BEA in both 01 and 02 I believe. Some tough history. |

I thinks this is accurate...If not, someone correct me. Parriott NP in finals 132 Siegle SW and Berg NP in finals 138 Fogarty SW in the finals 160 Dahlke SW and Selly TCU in fnals at 170 Would have been nice for all 6 to be spread out, but still nice job to all these guys for making the big dance. 4 state champs and 2 runner ups. Second most champions. Between 1AA and 2AA, we pulled in 9 of the 14. Dang tough sections. Congrats to the 2AA champs and all the place winners. |

I count 8. Jewett, Siegle, Steinbauer, Sweeney, Schmidt, Selly, Dahlke, and Clouse. Pretty sure Flynn, Drew, Berg, Fogarty, and Filk were juniors. Parriott and Swanson were sophomores. I could be wrong, but I think this is correct. Either way, with 8 gone there will be some opportunities. |
