Who knows you could be right, just a quick survey of the two tournaments each team was in, I guess I did notice MLLC was pretty lean between 130 to 160 or so. Two guys i didn't see were Matt Lloyd ( sp) and Mike Jindra. Maybe St. Peter does have a chance, two kids at the lightweights I haven't noticed before. 12 pounder handled the Rutt girl pretty easy and thats no easy task.

i heard that Jindra suffered a shoulder injury? can anyone clarify that...but as for matt lloyd I have not heard anything. and mason brownlee wrestled for them at 103 at the STMA and took 4th i believe and heard he is a pretty good little wrestler for a 7th grader. But then you got both Friederichs, Krocak, Rutt, and Miller who could get bonus points for MLLC.

Brownlee beat out Lloyd for 103 - sully at 112 - Jindra out, I think MLLC will start out in the hole against st. peter - then come back at 119, 125 - can they equal the loses + will be the question. St Peter heavy has to be favored - also rather lean with a young guy @ 140 for MLLC. I still take MLLC - two many 6's coming down the pipe for St. Peter to counter.

if it comes down to heavy and with ur score, how many points will Zabel need to get for the win?

cuz some people have underestimated Nieves in the past and has surprised some people. going to be a good match between towns that are only 13 miles away. still taking MLLC in this one

Just the win for Zabel hence the toss-up. Looking forward to Nieves match.
You must be from Le Center, because St. Peter is 24 miles from Montgomery and 35 miles from Lonsdale. :P

I will be there for the Scott West match at 5 p.m. and I will look over at the ME/NU match when I get a chance. I'll post some comments Saturday.

I'd like to stay the whole evening because I have really enjoyed watching the dual with New Ulm the past couple of years, but my college roommate is celebrating his 28th birthday tomorrow. Since doctors told him he wouldn't live past seven due to a heart condition, turning 4x that mark is a pretty big deal.

10 Falls a and a forfeit in the Montgomery and St. Peter match. Kids are going to need to learn how to get off and stay off their backs if either are going to compete well at sections.

Hutchinson 48, Becker 20
Hutchinson 55, Zimmerman 21

Becker won where they should: Dan Woiwor (119), Jay Woiwor (140), Brody Schrupp (152) and Kevin O'Brien (160). Hutch took the rest of the weight classes.

O'Brien beat No. 2 Ryan Madson (ranked at 145) 5-3. It was 1-1 after a pair of escapes before O'Brien got two takedowns. Madson could wrestle a second No. 1 in back-to-back days with Tyler Kivel coming to Hutch tonight. Match time 5 p.m.

Hutch was up 55-3 on Z-Man after 171 - only losing on a 5-4 decision at 112.

Your right 119 Zach won something like 17-1, that would be a Tech, but I did see Rutt pin someone, wasn't it Felty?

Just a few observation, in a earlier tourney I think they had Haslip wrestling 12 and if I saw right he beat the Rutt girl. St Peter took the easy way out and Rydell sucked down to 12, hey if you lose the weight, you have the right to wrestle wherever.

Also for some odd reason St. Peter had quite a few guys in the middle wrestling up a weight, got me, must have saw some stragety, but it sure didn't reflect in the score.

I don't thin SP took the easy way out. Rydell going down to 112 was probably a smart move, with ???? @ 103, ? @ 112 and ? @ 119.

I think they now have a good feel for what moves they could and should make next time. I think they have a hole that will fill in after the first of the year and you will see some different match ups next time, if they meet up.

Whatever, what i saw was a undersized 3 pounder for St. Peter who someday will be pretty good. Selly is learning, I know he too is young, but if Haslip is good enough to beat Rutt, why not stick him in there. If he gets six, then even if Rydell loses a dec. you only give up 3 and not 5 or 6. Like i also said, most of St. Peter's middle weights were up a weight, put a lot of pressure on some kids.

Thats the way i would have liked it too play out, but I have been around long enough to know, it wasn't going to. Pretty uneventful in the category, of the studs meeting up, i know the chess game starts later in the year.
