Hibbing also follows the rule of not shaking hands after each match, it just makes sense to do it at the end of the meet. They shake hands at the beginning of the match, then as a team....I really don't tuink 3 hand shakes are necessary. Keep it up Scott West, you are not alone.

Thanks coach for the explaination. There is no reason you have to explain the reasoning about it, but it sounds better coming from you then someone saying you vote on shaking hands. I know this same conversation came up with JCC not hand shaking and also Scott West. It looks a lot better with a all or none thing then just doing it if you win and not if you lose. |

Section Champs NP 4 SW 3 TRI 2 DEL 2 HTC 1 WAC 1 STP 1 Watertown did not have a champion but a runner up, and appeared to have a strong showing in 3rd and 4th with some young kids they are going to be a strong contender next year for team title! |

To answer cowcatchers question, here is the reason why other teams do it. Spoiler: click to toggle Acceptable Behavior Accept all decisions of contest officials. Applause during player introductions. Cheerleaders leading fans in positive cheers. Handshakes between participants and coaches at the end of the contest, regardless of the outcome. Treat the competition as a game, not a war. Everyone showing concern for an injured player, regardless of team. Unacceptable Behavior Disrespectful or derogatory yells, chants, songs or gestures. Booing or heckling an officials decision. Criticizing officials in any way. Yells that antagonize opponents. Refusing to shake hands. Blaming the loss of a game on an official, coach or participant. Taunting or namecalling to distract an opponent. Use of profanity. Doing own yells instead of following lead of cheerleaders. Hand-held signs containing derogatory language. Kudos to Tri-City for really stepping it up at sections when everything is on the line. Jordan Simonette punched his ticket to the big show by taking out a ranked wrestler and show that the sport is a process of continual improvement. In addition to the three who are going to State (none who are seniors) there were two freshmen that placed 4th at 120 and 138, two really tough weights. With the loss of only three seniors the Titans have a very bright future. |

state predictions 106: Both have a good shot at placing Huss 4th Voss 6th 113: Tucker wins it all Stauffacher looses first round and wrestles all the way back for 5th 120:Not sure either place with Wagner having the better chance Wagner 6th-DNP Piche 1-2 126: Kelvington looses a close one in rd 1 and wrestles back for 6th Logelin looses 2nd rd and takes 5th 132: Flynn Champ Sweeney 5th-DNP 138: Berg Champ Richter tough first round wrestle back for 5th 145: The streak continues with Parriot Champ Loosebrock 1-2 152: Knutson looses in semis wrestles to 4th Tesch DNP 1-2 160: Fogarty Champ no one comes close Green 2nd-6th 170: Rutt 4th-DNP Brelje 5th-DNP 182: Both have an outside shot at placing but no higher than 6th i would guess both DNP 195: Both DNP but hopefully get more than one match 220: Kneisel anywhere from 3rd-6th Jakes DNP 0-1 HWT: The way Burns wrestled last weekend he could win it I say he takes 3rd Shatz DNP but he showed last weekend predictions don't mean much.... I know I'm bias but its looking like a huge year for 2AA As a team i think SW takes 3rd. |

The wrestlers already shake hands twice that seems plenty good to me. also the coaches and captains shake hands at the start of a duel also at the end . Maybe they should shake hands in between periods ? Edited by cowcatcher2, Feb 26 2015, 08:01 AM.

Excellent Showing 2AA! I just ran the numbers in my head, and I think that we had 18-19 of our 28 wrestlers place! That is absolutely fantastic and verifies why 2AA is one hell of a tough section! |

Couldn't agree with you more. Both Michael and Gabe (former 2AA wrestlers that AA this year) are great young men. I enjoyed watching them from grade school to the success the have worked hard for today. Plus they are just humble and polite as you can get. |

Pre Season guess as to how the section will finish 1. SW 2. Waconia 3. NP 4. WMML However, I think any of these 4 teams could represent 2AA next year at the X. It's going to be another great season for this section. |

Any projected line-ups for 2AA teams? I don't know much, but I will give NP a shot as I know this team better than the others. 106 ? 113 ? 120 Woodyard 126 Rutt 132 Reyant 138 Logelin 145 Arguades 152 Parriott 160 Knutson 170 Kvam 182 Schmitz/Holgate 195 Holgate/Schmitz 220 ? 285 Wacker |

106 ? 113 Max Scheffler/Cade Logelin - Possibly one of these two may be able to get down to 106 120 Woodyard 126 Rutt 132 Possibly Jake Trachte - Reyant tore up his knee in football and is out. A tough break for Sam and the team. 138 Logelin/O'Neill - Depending upon how much kids have grown I could see these middle weights shifting around during team competitions and some wrestling at heavier weights 145 Arguades 152 Parriott 160 Knutson 170 Kvam 182 Schmitz/Holgate 195 Holgate/Schmitz 220 Matt Phelps - Phelps will probably be light for 220 but was a 9th grade qualifier at 152 in 2014. 285 Wacker |

Rutt wrestled 145 at preseason last weekend (weighed in at exactly 145), not sure if he'll make 126. He does cut a lot, so we'll see. |
