If Scott West was a sub par team, nobody would say anything. I'm willing to bet that the other schools in our section have as many if not more kids out for wrestling in grades 7-12. We don't have a lot for numbers in grades 11 & 12.... between both schools. What you see on our state roster is it. It gets to be a topic every year. ... New Prague, Waconia have more enrollment, what's their numbers? If we would've lost in the sections, nobody would be asking and nobody would be complaining about how many coaches we have. It's ridiculous that every year we answer the same questions.
I don't think it has anything to do with enrollment or how good SW is year after year, it's the arrogance of some of the coaches and the way they carry themselves that gets under everyone's skin. Hutch is very good in football and I don't ever hear these things being said about our football program. You will never see one of our coaches taunting fans or saying the things to opposing athletes that you see the SW coaches do. Nobody is afraid of the competition but everyone gets fed up with the attitudes.
I'm not from SW or Waconia but let me tell you if I was a SW coach I would of been feed up and tired with the taunting from the Waconia fans toward the SW wrestlers early on. I'm not sticking up for a coach, there supposed to hold there emotions. All I'm saying is I probably would of had some of the same reactions after what was going on earlier that night. Please give this a rest and let's cheer on our the section 2AA wrestles this weekend! Win or loss for your community there will be a lot of great matches to watch!

I'll take a stab at it if nobody else is going too.
106- Pickell over Shackle
113- Vos over Stauffacher
120- Huss over Gillette
126- Stauffacher over Luthens
132- Wagener over (Pundsack, Piche) I believe that is going to be a fun match to watch. I know Pundsack won on Saturday but I still don't know who to pick.
138- Donnay over Schultz, I hope to see a Siegle, Schultz round 3 this weekend at some point too.
145- Kelvington over Sweeney
152- Parriott over Milbrett
160- Hemze over Neaton
170- Knutson (if healthy) over Rutt If Knutson can't go I think there are multiple guys that could fight it out for second.
182- Buesgens over Brejle which would set up a true second match versus Kurth
195- I have no idea really. Is Kurth healthy? This weight seems really up in the air to me.
220- Jakes over Stenzel with the possibility of a true second
285- Burns over Swanson with a true second against Schatz
I think this is a good start. Nice work. I would think we will see Schmitz (NP) in the mix at 182. He lost in double OT against Buesgens. He also majored Kurth this season.

I can see Simonette and Kallenbach in the mix at 195
Thank you I had forgotten about those two. I really don't know a ton about the guys at 195!

No, he doesn't. Its more sour grapes.

Its the same co-op crying every year. Everyone tries to point to the numbers of the two communities, but they don't discuss the sacrifice and effort the wrestlers put into it to be competitive year after year.

With that said, its the last I am going to discuss on the co-op discussion. Its not worth the debate and no one is going to change the other person's mind.
Hey Mintermagic, you liked this post, you once WERE involved in a coop, what's your thoughts?? Is it now better that you left??
My "Like" was that I agree, people will never change their opinions about a coop!! It really sucked when they allowed our coop for the regular season, but then at sections made us split. They are now a full fledged coop after a change at AD in both schools! The one AD came from Farmington and was dead against the coop until he became AD that was affected by it!!!

I believe it was something like 7-2, but I am pretty sure Burns won by a significant margin last year too. Hopefully if these two meet up it will be a great match.

I think that the two heavyweights that come out of our section will also be meeting for a state championship.

Yeah, this has to be right, the only thing, if some coaches complain about his 7 matches this year. But 5th at state? I see it.

1 Swanson
2 Burns
3 Schatz

Seeding may not allow for that anymore.

106 - Shackle and Pickell are the favorites, but I have seen some good wrestling from the other teams at this weight. If either of these two slip, it could get interesting.

I see 182 being super interesting. You have Buesgens, Brejle, Schmitz, Kurth, and maybe Waligoski? I think that is what he was weighing for team but I don't know where he plans to go for individuals.

Ok, but can I say Pickell over Shackle with out you yelling at me?? But 106 has a lot of guys with ten loses or less. Fine, Pickell, Shackle. Next.

I am going to second this one. Like I said in an earlier post. He made a fan out of me when I watched the match with Hall at the Xmas. I hope he is healthy enough to make a run at it. I like his no fear style.

132 will be interesting. Saturday at teams Wagener barely made it out of his match with Piche, Burns beat Pundsack, and Pundsack beat Piche. It appears that Thursday night in the quarterfinals Kopet from TCU beat Burns and in the first round Pettis beat Kopet.

I'd say it's wide open.

When you have Parriott (and James Berg as of last year) as your practice partners, the best in the country do not look any different than any one else that you have seen accross from you every day since Kindergarten.
