2 coaches wrestling on the mat after a win, stay classy SW. Real impressive.
You people and your hatred for SW. The kid had a big win, let him have some jubilee. Sorry to say but from a far I would say SW has always run a classy program.

On a different note. I hated seeing Burns go down like that. He's a good kid. I hope he can get healed up soon.
Can you explain what happened. I am unfortunately unable to attend so i didnt see it. Hate to hear of any injuries this time of year especially for seniors when it is the last run at state.
Schatz was taking down Burns with a throw and Burns came down on his arm and wrist. Looked pretty bad. Tough kid he was able to walk the mat after some time but clearly in pain.

Scott west coaches had no idea he was hurt - they were just excited - no foul no harm. And I am not a Scott west fan.

Parriott wrestled a little over a minute and a half.... He toyed with his first round opponent. Check the video from KEYC: http://www.keyc.com/story/31269591/swanson-advances-in-loaded-heavyweight-crowd-at-section-2aa-individual-meet

How much weight did Schatz cut? He looked like a beast out there against the rest of the wrestlers. I have heard he cut 100 pounds all the way to 60 pounds. I don't care how much it was that is very impressive. That's why wrestlers are the toughest athletes. Schatz could of said screw this, I'm not going to loose 60+pounds for 1 month of wrestling, but he knew the team needed him and he had a chance to be a state champ and he kept with it. A lot of people doubted him I'm sure, (including me) but he stayed with it and Scott west wouldn't of probably made it to state without him. He's got pinned by Burns like 4 times already and he turned the tables tonight. Good job buddy! I'm sure I will see you in church tomorrow. I'm calling it, (depends on seedlings) Swanson vs Schatz state finals match.

To the state qualifiers and team SW, good luck next week and show the rest of the state why 2AA is the meat grinder it is.

After Schatz beat Burns, they were celebrating and fell over. That was before they knew Burns was injured. Non-incident as noted by others.

I was glad to see Burns back in the gym afterwards. He had a sling on, but seemed in good spirits.

The SW coaches are very excitable and demonstrative from what have observed. On the edge for me, but that is me. I can't imagine they knew about the injury and even though I wasn't there doubt they were out wrestling on the mat right after the match. I'm sure they were excited over the win in a big match as we all would be.

Who was it? Should the match be added to the "big matches and upsets" thread?

I really like people that try to predict the weights but don't know anyone but their town... gonna be tough but before you post do done research..... Pantherfan....
For not knowing anyone but my own town i must have made some lucky guesses ;) . I always like to look back at my own predictions and see how i did just for fun.

22 out of 28 picks for state made it through

Got the top 2 exactly correct in 6 weight classes got top 2 but not in order in one other

Correctly predicted 9 of 14 section champs

Had at least one wrestler predicted make it to state in all 14 weights.

27 out of 42 predictions placed top 3

Only 1 wrestler i predicted top 3 DNP at all that would be Sweeney who didn't wrestle due to injury

Only 1 wrestler i predicted top 3 didn't wrestle in the weight class i predicted Wadsworth went 160 i had him at 152.

My biggest misses were the Team outcome and 182 I can admit when i'm wrong as well. I guess next year i will have to do more research..... ^o)

the way the brackets are seeded now ,i think you will see less, one and two from same section meeting in state finals

2AA fans have had a day to review and digest the brackets and seeding. Has anyone from 2AA drastically benefited from seeding or got shafted by a bad seed or bad draw?

I think Waganer was one of the ones to get screwed. Getting the four seed and having to wrestle Aldrich in the semis instead of the finals. Tough bracket all around though. Waiting to see how it turns out.

Even without head to heads in season I thought the tournament was seeded pretty well for the top three places.

106: Pickell 1, Etinger 2, Shackle 3
113: Vos 1, Sampson 2, Stauffacher 3
120: Huss 1, Gillette 2, Garnatz 7
126: Stauffacher 1, Luthens 2, Stapleton 3
132: Wagener 1, Pundsack 2, Piche 3
138: Schultz 1, Donnany 2, Sage 3
145: Kelvington 1, Mueller 3, Kvam 2
152: Parriott 1, Milbrett2, Reich 3
160: Hemze 2, Giles 4, Neaton 1
170: Knutson 1, Rutt 2, Jobe 3
182: Buesgens 2, Schmitz 3, Brelje 1
195: Simonette 1, Kallenbach 3, Waligowski 5
220: Jakes 1, Winegar 2, Stenzel 3
285: Swanson 1, Schatz 3, Scheuble 4

Not a lot of upsets but my surprises were Giles in the semis and Schmitz in the true 2nd, both wrestled really well in those matches. Thought Huss was the OW and Knutson the Comeback Wrestler of the Year. Good luck to 2AA this week.

I don't believe Sage from St. Peter at 138 was seeded.
