Luthens beat sampson 6-1 last week. Putz beat Menke earlier this year in a crazy match 13-11 |

Where do you go in this section to avoid sitting at home? There really isn't anywhere to go. 126 is stacked and 132 doesn't have room for anyone to move up and be comfortable with a "sure thing". Can't go to 138 or 145 and be guaranteed anything. The only place any of these boys could go and be guaranteed anything is another section. |

Crazy to think but New Prague might be better off in 2AAA with Apple Valley and Shakopee than here in 2AA Edited by BRM8, Jan 31 2018, 10:25 PM.

I don't know how they couldn't meet up. Putz should be the 2 seed and Menke probably the 3. I'd give the edge to Putz. |

Seems like 2AA is in the 16-18 range most years. I think we have the wrestlers to do that (even more if you look at the log jam from 126-145). Edited by Jeep'n, Feb 1 2018, 10:28 AM.

Will Haajas stay at 220 or bump to HWT for a chance at the State title? More difficult to make it to State at HWT in 2AA, but better odds of winning it all IF he got through. |

Will stay at 220. Won't win sections at 285 so will stay at 220, win sections, probably make finals. |

Pretty sure his point is, that Hajas has a way better chance beating Jakes than Kerkvliet for a state title. But I don’t see neither happening. |

If Mankato West and Delano meet up in team sections my guess is Hajas and Jakes will wrestle each other if the score allows it. |

Champ didn’t come from 2AA last year, and Trigg returns to defend his title. 2nd is best to hope for at 220...those with options to go up or down will clear out if they hope for a state championship. Edited by Tibeco, Feb 1 2018, 03:20 PM.

285 state champ was Trigg out of Foley, Jakes and Hajas both beat him this season. Kirkvilet will win it all at 220 and Jakes will win 285 Edited by ung519, Feb 1 2018, 03:18 PM.

That seems like a silly statement, please give me your opinion on which 2AA weights have tougher/better wrestlers vs 2AAA, there may be a few weights, only because of injury IMO. Edited by LtlRsnDd, Feb 1 2018, 03:54 PM.

Hypothetical, is you took all 3rd place winners in all sections and had a dual tournament, 2AA would run away with it. Hands down the DEEPEST section. |

I understood what you were saying. My poorly made point was that THIS years champ spent the last 2 as a runner up at 220, and that qualifying through the future state champ isn't easier. But you're right beat him at sections, and state gets a little easier. |

1 Scott West 2 Waconia 3 Delano 4 WMML 5 West? 6 TCU? 7 East? 8/9 Hutch/St Peter?? 10 Waseca 11 GSL Unless TCU upsets Delano the top 4 are pretty much set in stone. Do East and West have a dual scheduled? 5-9 all have split wins. Which win(s) will be overlooked for seeding - East over St Peter - TCU over St Peter - St Peter over West - West over TCU - St Peter over Hutch - Hutch over East??? Were any of the wins a fluke? St Peter would not have a win over West if Jakes would have been in the line-up. |

Lots of parity in section 2aa, except for Scott West, who is clearly better than the field. |

East vs West, Friday February 9, should be a close dual but I think West wins a close one. If this is true, then they would be flip flopped

We know which teams will be seeded 1-4. More interesting is weights at the IND sections. Curious to see how 126 and 132 play out. |

I think 2AA will have 8 weight classes in the finals. 126, 132,138,152,160,182,220,285 with 7 potential champions. Kirkvleit isn't beatable, my guess is he would beat Gable in March if they could meet up again.
