I'm sure that's what the coaches call it.

Not trolling. Most full-time wrestlers are in the lower weights. Football players who wrestle three months a year fill the upper weights. Skill wise the lower weights dominate upper weights and it's not close.
I think you are correct. The kids above 170 only need 2 moves. A unstoppable takedown and a unstoppable escape. The real wrestlers can’t win with that combination.
;)

5 State champions out of 2AA and I believe I counted 17 total place winners. Well done and congrats to all of them.

The only move Buesgens appears to have is that reach over reverse front headlock chin whip thingy that only appears to work on sub par wrestlers. I wanted to see him wrestle Kennedy, but after watching their semis matches, it wouldn’t have been good.
Ok this is coming from someone who either never watches Buesgens or is one of those Scott West haters. Buesgens had an off day you could see it in him after the first period of the first match on Saturday. He did not look or wrestle HIS way it seemed to be more defensively, too cautious. The MN State tournament is known as a place where Dreams get crushed. Wrestling is as much a head game as physical so I don't think we need idiots like this kicking kids when they are down. I'm sure Buesgens is down on himself enough. I am a AA fan and this kid caught my eye 2-3 years ago when Griffin Parriot was calling him out. And I don't believe he ever used that move back then. I have also seen him beat state champs not using that move. The move is a show stopper that the crowd loves so why not use it but to say that is all he has you obviously don't follow him so sometimes just think before posting these are high school kids.

Why is anyone degrading at this point?
This coming from a longtime section 2aa fan and follower, and someone who actually had Buesgens and several other 2aa wrestlers in my fantasy draft. No "one move wonder" finals at the xmas tourney and wins the rumble on the red, along with establishes the list of quality wins he's had over the years. He is a great all around wrestler, so I can agree that maybe something was off and he had a bad day of wrestling. My heart goes out to that kid, along with the many others who fell somewhere in what should be the toughest tourney all year long. It happens to a lot of very good wrestlers every year, but that's also where character is built in this sport, and that's why I'm the fan of wrestling that I am.

Truly, as a follower, I really want to congratulate all section 2aa representatives and say that you all performed top notch again as always, and I'd like to thank all wrestlers, coaches, and even some fans for another great season of entertainment, suspense, and quality wrestling. This section has been where it's really at, and will continue to be for a long time for team and individuals alike.

Good work this season men.

So the kids above 170 aren't "real wrestlers"? Anyone that posts something like this (and the sentences that followed) isn't very bright.

I had heard that this thread was full of trolls and goofy takes. My sources were correct.

You obviously have a small brain to go along with that small body. Selfish kids who only play one sport are ruining hs sports. Without multisport athletes, you wouldn't have all the sport available today. Wake up, wrestling was almost cut from the Olympics, and it's not doing well in HS. Guys like you are why you can't get football players to join the wrestling team. Real athletes can and do multiple sports.

His comment tears his own argument apart.

If you have an unstoppable takedown and an unstoppable escape, you don't need anything else. There is no requirement to wrestle on the mat.

Jacob schlotke was the master of this, he is very high on the all time win list because he had an unstoppable ankle pick and had a great escape. Oh and by the way he wrestled in the "real wrestlers" weight classes.

Dolce vita and That’s 2 - I’ve seen him plenty, I know he typically has more than that. I was referring specifically to the Dittrich match.

Rogotzke doesn't lock his hands on it (at least when I've seen it) making it a more traditional chin whip. Buesgens seemed to have his hands locked every time I saw him hit it.

I know what Folkstyle was saying (and don't think he meant it to be disrespectful). No question the move is effective for Tyler in how he sets it up. The first time I seen him do it was last year at Fargo, I believe. My son and his buddies have practiced it a couple times since the state tournament. Below is a a video link from Flowrestling on Twitter of a Cornell wrestler using it over the weekend. I guess it also works on Division I wrestlers.

I think the assasin and a chin whip are two different moves is what I am saying.

I agree. They are two different moves. Assassin is what The SW wrestler does.

Congrats to former 2AA Scott West Wrestler Luke Zilverberg on becoming an All America this year for SDSU.

I haven't followed college wrestling as close this year, so I am only familiar with the SW wrestlers who qualified, so please feel free to recognize any other 2AA competitors... With that congrats to David Flynn (Augsburg) and Andrew Fogarty (NDSU) on qualifying again this year. Adding Parker Huss....qualified for NJCAA National Tournament.
