I've been wondering about that 125 group. Too lazy to look back at previous results, but if Mark Dvorak goes to 135, would we see Jacob Siegle at 130?

Wouldn't it be somewhat of a suprise to see Mark D. going 135, he was 130 last year, which I'm pretty sure he can make and he's a Senior. Its all or nothing.

Flemming had a take down in the 1st. He turned Goldberg with a cradle but Goldberg broke it before back points could be counted.

On their feet the whole second period. Some scambling...

Flemming chose down for the last period. Lee tried working some turns and Flemming was warned for stalling about mid way through the period.

Match ended 2-0. Two very good wrestlers on the mat...Should make for an interesting sections final (assuming no upsets and they both get there)...

Still nothing on the MSHSL website or the tournament time section per the seedings. Waconia (who hosted the seeding meeting) has already updated its schedule. They got the 4 seed and will face No. 5 New Prague Thursday.

I get the feeling that it was going to be pretty cut and dry for the 11 seeds.

If anybody hears anything, please post.

The expression is cut and dried....

But yeah, New Prague at Waconia was expected...it should be a good match with New Prague having its whole lineup back now.

Hutchfan13 suggested;

No. 5 would wrestle at the No. 4 seed gym
6/11 at No. 3 gym
7/10 at No. 2 gym
8/9 at No. 1 gym

Is this official?

What has changed?

Who represents each seed?

Well, the schedule is the same. 6/7:30 p.m. on Thursday at top 4 seeds, final four at 5/8 p.m. on Saturday at Waconia.

Well, I can guarantee Scott West is No. 1, Waconia is No. 4 and New Prague is No. 5.

My speculation would be 2. Hutch 3. Delano 6. WM/ML 7. MLLC 8. St. Peter 9. New Ulm 10. M East 11. GSL

Could be just the generic time. It could be moved up depending on the length of the semis is my best guess. Then again, I remember 5AA used to do 6/8 at GSL when I used to cover BOLD High School. It is a Saturday night. And don't most quads have 5/6:30/8 start times?

This is just ridiculous if theses are the correct times. Your down to four teams, theses are kids, man they're ready to go by 10 in the morning and your gonna lull them to sleep by waiting till 5:00 or 6:00 pm to wrestle the semi's . LOL insane.

But is the facility available at 10:00am? I am sure the AD has other sports to juggle around.

Why? These were at about the same time last year. There just was opening round and quarterfinal matches during the morning/afternoon. Like I said in another thread, having a final four (at night) spotlights the final four teams. Do Bed, Bath and Beyond and Home Depot during the afternoon, watch some wrestling at night.

Nice “Old School” reference. The start times are little puzzling as many sections around the state have Saturday start times between 11:00 am – 1:00pm. If the team tournament is going to end late Saturday night with either a 1 or 2 day tournament, why have a 2 day tournament.

Maybe so, but think about it, how can you accept the bid too host a SECTION Tournament Final, then say wait, lets put wrestling on the back burner. LOL

Pat Brinkman at 215 has to be one of the favorites. I believe he will be there only state qualifier. A couple of kids are solid, but not top two. Jake Schmidt at 285 could upset Kratzke or Zabel maybe.

I gotta believe Delano is going to beat Hutchinson this time around when it's win or go home. If they do win but have a close match, could that drain them mentally or emotionally against Scott West in the finals (assumung Scott West makes it there)? I think Delano will beat Hutch but fall short of Scott West losing some of the toss up matches that they won last time like Fogarty vs Bohler. My prediction is Scott West by 7-10 over Delano in the finals.
