I never questioned the talent of either of these boys. Your the one that has come on here talking like a big shot know it all. Saying how one is so much better than the other cause he won a very close match. I simply asked a question. I've seen both of them wrestle since they were very young kids.

I think the saying is HUN YUK!!
You know more than i do then?
When you "Win" its spelled "won?" Right?
Correct, thanks I'm a very poor wrighter.
Your doing ok with the spelling, and all you have to do is click on the "spell check button" if your unsure,k?

I get a kick out of it when someone comes on here and picks on the way another person types and than writes something like "your doing ok........" when they should have put down YOU'RE doing ok...... Just saying!?!?!?! GET ALONG!

Wow...a little excitement in here.

I've watched Hutch the past four years...so I've seen Hansen and the seniors for most of their varsity careers. Despite Hansen's 4-0 loss to Siegle (it could have been 1-0 if he didn't try in the end), he's wrestling better than he has his whole career. You have to remember he was never ranked until this year. He was good his eighth-grade year, but didn't even wrestle much varsity his freshman year. Just gained too much weight to bump guys. Like Clobes, he is not a tech fall kind of guy. He will get his pins, but he is just very, very steady.

If he loses, it's something like 2-0 or 2-1. Very defensive wrestler. How will that roll at state? We'll see. He did well in the first round round last year, but struggled against high scoring guys. Will he win state? Probably not. But Ryan Madson was a good defensive wrestler with a few more moves and he lost by a point in the championship.

I do agree with Yub, I thought Jordan looked stronger at 140. But it's call at what he wants to wrestle.

I hope we have strong representation from Hutch this year again. I see Hansen, Clobes, Schlueter and White as top two seeds and Chris Schmidt as a wild card at 119.

I am sure all the Hutch kids will do the the section proud with what ever the out come is.

but with that i heard Delwiche is in trouble with school and thats why he did not wrestle in the team section, so whith that does that mean he is out this weekend too, im not sure how the rule works but that would be bad if hes out and done for the season.

I saw Hansen at a tournament earlier in the season and again this month. I thought he looked a little stronger at 140, too. Might be too weak at 135 to make the top podium spots at state. He is a sound wrestler and should do well at 135 or 140. Good insight -- as usual -- provided by Hutchfan. I see three or four Hutchinson wrestlers advancing to state with 8 medaling at section. Above-average wrestlers at many weights but not enough balance across the numbers to do well in the team competition. What say you, Hutchfan... eight finish in the top six? What about the Anderson kid? Not a big pinner but always seems to be in the mix. Any chance he'll be wrestling next week?

Dude: http://www.theguillotine.com/highsch/results/0910/sct2aatm.html

Delwiche will wrestle this weekend. He was unable to last week. That's all I'm saying.

Top six? Locks: Clobes, Schmidt, Hansen, Schlueter, White ... Near-locks: Settergren, Rasmussen and Anderson ... Just on the outside: Petersen, Mellies (if he's at 140).

Looking at the 152-bracket, Anderson can wrestle with all of them. Obviously Poikonen would be the toughest. Mason has lost to the rest - Gallus (Del) 4-2, Gieseke (NU) 3-2 I think and Paul Dvorak (SW) 4-2. He also beat Brian Zabel (STP) 5-3 last week.

Mason is a solid wrestler ... but to make top two he will have to shoot more and be the aggressor and get a lead.

Why wouldn't Mellies be at 140? unless Hansen decided to go back up?

I'm not 100% on how these things work, but I believe there is differences for school suspensions and rules violations such as grades or doing "stupid stuff."

WRE father - I haven't talked to Jordan all week about where he is going for sections. If he goes 135, Mellies would wrestle at 140. If he goes 140, Mellies is bumped out. That's why I added the if he's at 140 note.

Must have missed seeing me drive an hour to Belle Plaine on Saturday ... ? It's funny because everyone always whines. If you looked around, there were no other media from Delano or Belle Plaine or Jordan or Watertown.

One thing I have learned over the years - you can't please them all. One person says there isn't enough basketball coverage for a 19-3 team and another says there isn't enough wrestling stories and too much basketball and hockey.

Well, off to cover the state girls hockey tournament. That alright with you? Or should I start to set up shop in Delano?

I tell ya, I have not saw Jordan all year, but this kid must be ripped. Two years ago he was wrestling 130, he had a frame that could easily support 150 or better. Now this year he has wrestled as low as 135, this kid must be really dedicated. Good luck too all the 2AA wrestler's, specially the Seniors, its their last year.

Well, its time for the individual section tournament. Here's to wishing all of our section wrestlers good luck and tell them I appreciated another year of great wrestling. You have put on quite the show and I am really looking forward to watching our section representatives at the "Big Dance" no matter what school they started out at. After Friday they represent Section 2AA and they deserve to know that they have battled long and hard for this opportunity. I for one appreciated watching the seniors mature and learn their skills.

Thanks wrestlers (and Mom's) we'll see you Friday night !!!

BiggPoppa11, I think thats a very conservitive estimate

I see as many as 8 @ 103, 119, 125, 130, 140, 152, 189 & 215

Make it 9 if Betchwars is at 112

If they send 9 then this section has really gone down hill. They should only be sending 5 or 6 at best. 103,112 are tossups...125,130,135 should make it. 189 is going....And you never know which Hentges will show up so 215 is a toss up.

Im not sure if they plan on dropping Fogarty, Zilverberg and Seigle to 119, 125 and 130.

If someone from Scott West plans on going at 125 they will have to beat Flemming or Rydell, and I don't think that will be a easy task.

Big Poppa 11,

I think you under estimate some of the guys. I was at 80% of their matches this year and think they will fair better. You say 5 or 6, I say 7 or 8 so lets see who has bragging rites.

Im not sure if they plan on dropping Fogarty, Zilverberg and Seigle to 119, 125 and 130.
If someone from Scott West plans on going at 125 they will have to beat Flemming or Rydell, and I don't think that will be a easy task.
Topstep-Fogarty or Zilverberg has as much as a chance as anybody at 125 to make to state. Both are solid wrestlers and should not be taken for granted by anybody competing at that weight.

BigPopp11, I find myself agreeing with you more often these days. I think in general, I'd also say that 2AA isn't as deep as it has been the last couple of years, except for a couple of weights.

Then again, I think section 2AA will be very well represented in state this year and they have a great chance to bring home several individual titles.
