Hutch 63, Orono 0 * yikes....the Spartans only wrestled at 130, 145, 152, 189, 215 and 285. There were a couple of double forfeits. * Madson dominated at 130, Settergren won in a pin in eight seconds at 52, Benage and Piepmeier with pins in the final two matches. Hutch 41, MLLC 25 * double forfeits at 103 and 140, MLLC forfeited at 130, 171 and 189 * not a real good match, too many forfeits. Highlights: Mason Brownlee wins 6-4 over Chris Schmidt. Eric Madson 15-0 tcfl over Josh Selly. Friederich maj Bobby Rasmussen 16-7. Anthony Settergren down 6-2, reverses and pins over Gus Philips. Tiede pin Misch. Arroyo looked very good at 215. * Rutt did not wrestle. Hutch was without Corey Peterson (knee). |

Friday in Jordan I believe is the third-year quad of Hutch, Scott West, New Ulm and Mankato East. Haven't seen too many results from either ME or NU, but it looks like that might be the only good dual. From reading a preview in the New Ulm Journal, the Eagles graduated a ton, although they do still have a few quality kids in Luke Derksen and the Cihaks. East has Ricardo and Leon Fletcher and are usually fairly strong at 215 and 285. Hutch doesn't have enough to beat the Panthers, but I will be interested to see how they compete and see how many matches they are in. SW should give Hutch's top kids Eric Madson and Kyle White really good matches. Hopefully there's not as many forfeits as there was with MLLC and Orono especially with Hutch losing a tournament in Faribault last weekend. |

The Scott West Quad in BP tonight was quite one sides. SW over NU 62 to 3, SW over Hutch 52 to 7 and SW over ME 63 to 3. SW also used many alternates again. This team has depth. Tyler Dobmeier(#10), Mike Kroells (#1) and Gabe Fogarty(#6) have yet to wrestle a single match. They won the Osseo Tournament by 40 points with only half of their ussual starters. All I can say is WOW. |

Someone told me that there are 14 ranked wrestlers out of 2AA, and Scott West has six of them. So it may be some of what the other teams in the section are not as well as what Scott West is. Zack Dvorak had a nice win over Kyle White, #7 at 189. |

I was impressed how the hutchenson boys wrestled. They have a lot of heart, skill and talent on that team. This shows up in the coaching. |
