Tuma vs Arroyo

Not sure where everyone is weighing in. Maybe able to see a Brownlee vs Parriott?

How is Morgan Parriott doing with his concussion? issues from last season, I saw him at a lot of events last spring, but not wrestling, so I asked his brother Griffin, and he said concussion issues. Best wishes Morgan.

Great matches at MLLC. Monty defeated Waseca pretty good. Waseca and NP came down to HWT and Waseca pinned giving them the win. Then NP beat Monty by about the same score Monty beat Waseca!?!?! Each team walked away 1-1.

Morgan appears healthy. Both Parriots were 7-0 going into tonight's matches. Hopefully Morgan stays healthy and has a great year. Maybe taking the summer off gave him a chance to heal thoroughly.

Zach Dvorak has been impressive so far, beating #7 Kyle White and placing sixth at the Christmas Tournament. He's rankable.

Matt Elsenpeter, Watertown-Mayer/Mayer what a performance he turned in at the x mas tourney. With his win over Siegle that should make him good enough for a top 5 ranking. Now add that to his win over MATT MEUWISSEN who is ranked 3rd in AAA.

Elsenpeter has also beat Retzloff and Westerlund already this year. Zilverberg showed well @ 119 in the Christmas Tourney. How bout Reinertz and young Berg from New Prague? And with the Garness loss will Friederich move up to #1?

No, I don't think you will see Friederich at #1.

You may see Brownlee crack the list with wins over Mallinger of STMA and Pehrson of Waseca.

Eric Madson is 10-1 or something like for Hutch. He placed third at Big Bear with his only loss to No. 2 ranked Jacoby Bergeron of Thief River Falls 4-2 in overtime. He should be ranked at 125.

The Tigers had all 14 wrestlers win at least one match and all 14 scored bonus points in a fourth-place finish at Big Bear. Coach Card was happy about that - good team balance.

Hutch thus far is 4-1 against section teams, having beat MLLC, Waconia, Mankato East and New Ulm...lost to Scott West. Still have dates with WMML, St. Peter, Delano and Glencoe-SL (nothing w/ New Prague).

Dont know official score but St. Peter won the dual
LE CENTER — St. Peter knocked off a tough Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center wrestling team 38-29 on Tuesday.

“We wrestled a great dual meet in beating a very tough MLLC team,” St. Peter coach Keith Hanson said. “Maybe we need more snow days where we don’t have practice! I thought the boys looked sharp heading into the Christmas break.

“Tanner McLain at 160 pounds moves to 8-1 with a nice 6-3 win tonight. Kyle Bosacker (7-2) at 145 had a very crowd-pleasing match as he notched a fall right as time expired.”

The Saints also got pins from Hunter Retzlaff (6-3) at 119 and Dylan Connor (5-4) at heavyweight and decisions by Steven Pettis (4-5) at 125 and Matt Sack (2-7)at 189.

The Saints (3-5) have a break until their next match at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4 at undefeated Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial (6-0), ranked fourth in the state in Class A.

Merry Christmas section 2AA! I think its cool that this thread was started in 2008 and after 128,000 views and over 1500 posts its still going. Many, many threads get deleted or just fade away but not this one. It shows how respectful of each other this section is and how much we care about all of our wrestlers. We may have different names on our uniforms but at the end of the day we are all on the same team- the wrestling community team! thx again.

I don't know if any one can beat Scottwest! Who has a chance.
It's funny but my first question is still the same after all this time. Not one other team has even come close to taking the 2AA title away from Scottwest.
WHY?
Well in my opinion, Commitment is the word I'd use
Commitment from the coaches
Commitment from the wrestlers
Commitment from the program, schools, & community's
Commitment from the youth program
Commitment to the tradition
Also it would seem there is a Commitment to not letting ego's get in the way of the big picture. I know they don't always agree on everything no program does. Yet they keep it rolling and I don't see that changing anytime soon!!!!!

It is good that we can keep this tread going this long. Lets keep it going!!

This is all true for the Scott West (Jordan, Belle Plaine,Holy Family) Program.
The beautiful thing about the sport of wrestling is an individual from any program can train year around, seek coaching outside there program and home state (off season), and pay his/her dues and compete to achieve there goals in this sport at the local, state and national levels. Lets not forget those one, two, or three individuals from the smaller programs that have/are excelling in the sport. Those are the local hero's of wrestling that a few young athletes look up to and that spark the fire to challenge themselves in the ancient sport of wrestling. Good luck to all the 2AA individual wrestlers.
