That was not the issue for GSL and Lester. They will be having a dual, in Lester, next year.
That's what I was told by a pretty reliable source. Just repeating what I was told when asked why a meet was hosted at a elementary school in Silver Lake. Like the kids from BLHS, I'm sure the few Lester Prairie kids would enjoy wrestling at home.

Nice win, btw, for GSL/LP, over Delano last night. Started out the match with a 36-6 lead. The Panthers have some nice wrestlers down low and are as solid as they get between 130-140.

If anyone is going to be at the Denver-Tripoli tourney and has access to a computer it would be appreciated if you can send any updates on Scott West. It sounds like there will be some good competition from Iowa (including 2A 2nd rank Denver-Tripoli). Thanks

Last I heard was SW had a slight lead going into final round. SW had 6 in finals, D-T had 7.
Through 119lbs, SW was 0 for 3 in finals, D-T was 1 for 1.
All I know for now.

This tournament was a lot of fun. Two mats, ten teams, non-stop wrestling for 8 1/2 hours, room for 500 people and 600 people there. There were lots of highly ranked Iowa kids at this meet from 2A and 1A, so this is a nice win for Scott West. It was good to have Gabe Fogarty back in the line-up, and he scored a big pin in the finals against a Denver-Tripoli, the team who came in second.

It's a triangular actually. Interested to see how well WM/ML matches up against Scott West. Obviously they won't have enough, but wondering how many matches they can win. With solid guys like Sweeney and Elsenpeter down low, Stadnick in the middle and White and Neaton up top, the Royals are probably the second best team in the section.

I still think Hutch/BLHS and New Prague could be in that same mix for the No. 2 seed. I've seen some really nice things from the Tigers. They are a lot stronger down below than I thought they'd be. The freshman group (plus eighth-grader Riley Drew) really is turning some heads. Plus section placer Corey Petersen is expected to wrestle for the first time this season tonight at Delano.

I'm really excited for next Thursday in Hector when WM/ML and Hutch/BLHS tangle. I see it like this...Wrestling father 1 or any other WM/ML fan, please give your insight:
103: Karl maj Hood (H 4-0) - haven't seen Hood, but Karl is tough at 103
112: Elsenpeter maj Drew (4-4) - could see a pin here, but the Drew kid is tough
119: Sondergaard pin Zakariasan (H 10-4) - need at least a TCFL here
125: Sweeney maj Pundsack (H 10-8) - Pundsack needs to stay off back
130: Madson pin Hillmann (H 16-8) - should be six
135: Schmidt dec Reinert (H 19-8) - Schmidt is on a roll
140: Rasmussen dec Jobe (H 22-8) - toss up
145: G. Jordahl pin Vouk (H 28-8) - need six here
152: Stadnick maj Settergren (H 28-12) - I could see Settergren giving up only three
160: P. Jordahl pin Cooper (if he's healthy enough, otherwise toss up with Misch) (H 34-12)
171: M. White pin Mellies (H 34-18) - White too tough
189: K. White dec Hillman (H 37-18) - White doesn't like the lanky guys
215: Neaton pin Benage (H 37-24) - close match could see White wrestling here too
285: Burns or Ernst pin Piepmeier (H 37-30) - toss up, Piep has been better this year

135, 140 and 160 decide the match IMO.

Scott West had a trianglular tonight with New Prauge and Windom, they won both duals big, losing only three matches total. I THINK the scores were SW 54, New Prauge 12 and SW 61, Windom 3. Windom beat New Prauge something like 47-16.

SW had a triangular tonight with Dassel-cokato and Wayzata. Another one sided performance, SW 50 DC 9 ( I think thats right and SW wrestled mostly JV) and SW 69 and Way 3 and Way ~35 and DC ~ 24. Anoka quad tomorrow.

Wow is right! I see a team working for more than just a trip to state. This is a team on a quest for a state title.
