SW has a very good program all year round.Good coaching from what I see is key.I know of a coach that has had a state champ in each of the past three years and he thinks that those kid were built by his coaching.Which is false in my eyes it's the extra time the kids comited ,pride, sacrifice, state of mind ,and focus of that wrestler not the coach he spends 3 month with them drilling. J Robinson doesn't make champions in three months. I think that SW has coaches that have the expertise in watching wrestles and teaching them different styles that each wrestler can use not buy say this is how we wrestle so you do it our way.

WM/ML SPANKED! by Scottwest the score doesn't even matter. THE GAP IS HUGE in section 2AA..... Once again the battle left to fight, is for second best in the section. It might be funny if it wasn't so bleeping pathetic!!! I guess they do have magic beans, I mean they must? how do they do it?
SW using those magic beans again? I thought the MSHSL put a ban on those?

58 to 9 SW over WM/ML, 73 to 4 over Waconia. Waconia won a major at heavy weight. 6 of the 9 WM/ML points was a FF at 189 because the kid has a bug. Stadnick and Zilverberg had an exciting match. It was close all the way til the end with a 4 to 2 dec. to Stadnick. SW looked tough. The ref was horrible. Screwed up the 160 match something terrible. A 6 to 2 win for SW over ranked WM/ML kid. The WM/ML ranked 160 kids only points were penalty points given by the ref over dubious calls. Then he had the sportsmanship to throw in an efenhiemer at the SW team and the ref let him walk. Where's the love ?
so stadnick bumped to wrestle Zilverberg?

The Trojans have a bunch of kids that will compete for top two spots at sections including Morgan Parriot, Trevor Westerlund, Griffin Parriot and Dakota Cole.

Sounds Good! The coaches have come a long ways the past couple of years. I recall they were a top 2AA contender 8-10 years ago. Good luck.

My boy and I talk a lot of high school wrestling and still recognize some of the names, two inparticular Sam Braunhausen (waconia) and Stephen Delwich ( Glencoe). Can anyone who is still close to the section tell me what chance these two have, at sections, just curious. There's a place that lies in my heart for some of these kids that have been around for a while.

Delwiche, I believe, was the top seed at 140 pounds last year and placed third. He did miss much of the season, so I think that hurt him and he lost to Luke Derksen of New Ulm - a match he would have won. This year, if he can stay healthy, I would think he'll be a contender at 140 pounds. He has missed some time with a shoulder injury, but won all five matches at Nicollet Saturday. Jake Siegle of Scott West is the clear favorite in my mind, but Delwiche, along with Derksen, will contend for that second spot.

I'm interested to see what Braunshausen will do for sections. He started the season wrestling at 140 pounds, but has been down at 135. He's ranked No. 9 in state, but two other section kids - Gabe Fogarty of Scott West and Zach Friederich of MLLC - are ranked ahead of him. Fogarty just pinned Friederich this past weekend. Sam is tall, so he definitely would be able to wrestle at 140 and do well at state. If he were to go to 140, he'd probably be the No. 2 seed ahead of Delwiche.

I see some matches a little differently, some may be closer or even toss ups. I think WM/ML will have to really have to kick it in to high gear. They did wrestle very well at the white bear quad last Friday. Witch was a big plus after the night they had against Scottwest on Thursday. We'll find out soon enough......

Or will we...BLHS closed again. Both days this match has been scheduled, BLHS has been closed and Hutch has been open. There's a basketball game there tonight, so moving it to Hutch is out of the question. This winter is getting frustrating.

Livewell...posted a short recap on anther thread. Check myprepsplus.mn for the full rundown in a little bit.

145 is one of the weaker weights I think
Stadnick - WM/ML
Dvorak/Pesch - Scott West
Might see Delwiche from GSL/LP
Not much else

Teide is pretty good wrestler he would of won the Le Center tourney bet Curt Maas beat him pretty good in the final match. But, I don't think that anyone can beat a Charlie Pesch that is healthy and has his eyes on the prize.
