Read today in the Mankato free press that some Mankato West wrestlers think that there road to state is going to be easier than it was last year in section 1AAA cause they dont have the likes of Albert Lea and Owatonna.

Just want to say to those boys that you may not have Albert Lea or Owatonna wrestlers anymore but you have wrestlers from the likes of; Scott West, New Prague, Hutch, Delano, MLLC, Watertown-Mayer, etc. it definitely didnt get any easier. You just enter probably one of the top two sections of class 2AA
I bet they are thinking a little different after being in a tournament with New Prague this weekend. They placed a ways back of New Prague and there is a good chance New Prague will not even be the two or three seed in section 2AA.
You guys are really stretching what was said in the Mankato Free Press. The boys in the article stated that section 2AA is tough and have teams like Scot West and Hutch. They went on to say that they no longer have to wrestle Albert Lea and Owatonna. I guess you can read it however you please but these boys are very respectful and good kids and for you to paint them in any other light is not fair to them. Good luck to all teams the rest of the season hope everyone stays healthy.

On a side note, I believe that New Prague will be one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the section as they are solid throughout their line up.

I am guessing NP will be seeded 2nd but no worse than 4th. They wrestle Montgomery tomorrow night @ Waseca and if New prague wins there, Im guessing that'll for sure get them in the top 4 for section seedings.

I wish the results would get posted from the Chaska-Chan tournament from saturday. New Prague took first I know, but how far back was Mankato West??

I would also like to see some Individual match-ups between West and New Prague wrestlers to get posted!

Bump...

Its pretty quit, so far this year, in 2AA topic.

Everyone have their poker face on? Or are they just like me with nothing good to contribute at this time.

Went and checked out the NP schedule - look like they have had a few decent competitors - and more to come.

Chatfield (Lean & Mean) - NP Won
Hopkins (Lean & Mean) - NP Won (tourney)
Champlin Park (Lean & Mean) - NP Won (tourney)
Chaska /Chan -NP Won (tourney)

Upcoming

LeSueur (L&M)
Eden Prairie (L&M)
Windom (L&M)
Hutch (L&M)
Scott West (#3)
LCWM (#7)
PL (#11)
Grand Rapids (#12)
Rumble

Don't think NP is in the same league as AV, Simley, Etc - do not think they are claiming to be.

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic...Your question was very general so I provided a general answer.

I haven't seen enough results yet to offer an opinion on everyone else. I am sure there are several people with more insight this year that can provide some predictions for the season.

I wasnt suggesting you were being sarcastic. nothing wrong with a stating an answer to i completely general topic. I saw Trnka wrestle in the Delano tourny last Saturday and he looked real tough. Pinned his way through and stuck a pretty tough Kimball kid in the finals who beat up on Connor a little in the semis. I would at this point almost have to put him in as a solid second place choice. granted I know nothing about the Mankato kid and Preston has done little to impress me so far.

Kroells
Trnka
Connor/Benzkofer?
Preston

No worries Gloves08...I just wanted you to know I wasn't trying being rude with my original answer.

I appreciate your insight as I haven't had a chance to dig in yet this season. Plus I am still recovering from my college football hangover...

ha all good. yeah those are the worst. did just see that Trnka wrestled at 195 the Friday night before Delano. Not sure what that means and why he went to 220 for the tourny but could make things interesting.

NP wrestled LCWM last night, lost by 8 if i recall?

I know LCWM was up by 1 going into 285

And I dont know about LCWM's line up, but I know that NP was missing their 138 Dakota Cole (8-1 record), they were missing their 184 Cody Sirek (dont know his record) and they put out their heavy-weight who I think has some problems with his ribs? (He didnt wrestle the other 2 duals)

So over all I think NP wrestled a respectable match considering their position.

When you say that they dont wrestle anyone tough, it shows a little disrespect to the teams they beat, which some were actually respectable and talented.

Looking at New prague line up , they have a young team ..... doing well...

SW finishes 4th at Xmas tournament today, just 4 points behind STMA and with no one entered at Hwt.

9 Place winners to finish the day!

Kroells repeats as champion, 4 pins and a major.
Gabe Fogarty finishes second behind the new freak of nature at AV in a close match.
Betchwars loses a close match with Gliva and pulls out a nice OT win to take third and gain more team points.
Flynn continues to impress with a close match to finish 4th.
N Dvorak gets a pin to finish 5th
Andrew Forgarty loses a close one to finish 6th
Siegle and Zilverberg place at 7th
Riker does a nice job and places 8th

Merry Christmas to All

Congrats, to Scott West on another fine showing this weekend! Hard work pays off!
Where is Mr. Pesch ? just wondering I did not see him this weekend in the results.

One more thing about Scott West. I want to thank the whole Scott West Family for the way over the years they treated my boy Joey. ( I spite of his old man being a total pain in the ass ) We'll never forget how at the end of his last H.S. match with Charlie at state last year. Your family all stood up and congratulated both wrestlers. Sitting among you and feeling the respect For those two kids you all showed WOW! Joey said he looked up and seen that and it really helped him end his H.S. career on a total high. People can talk all the crap they want to about this or that but when push comes shove Scott West is one of the classiest programs in the great state of Minnesota.

Everyone else in this section will once again be competing to see who's second. There's nothing wrong with that, it takes time to move up the ranks. This section has some teams that are working it and going in the right directions. Good for them!!

Good luck and health to all Section2AA wrestlers this year
God Bless

If Siegle drops it will be him, otherwise David Flynn. Siegle is the top in section if he makes it and after Flynn's performance this weekend at the Xmas tourney (beating the #1 ranked person in ND and #2 ranked person in MN 2AAA), I would place him at the top of the section as well.

Flynn should be ranked next time around. He is a good little wrestler. Well schooled in the fine arts of wrestling technique. Natural talent. He beats the crap out of my kid everytime they wrestle. Close to the top in 2AA.
