Flynn should be ranked next time around. He is a good little wrestler. Well schooled in the fine arts of wrestling technique. Natural talent. He beats the crap out of my kid everytime they wrestle. Close to the top in 2AA.
what about some kids at 106 from teams other than scott west???lol

May move up the HM list on TOM, I don't know that this win would bring them into the top 25 though. Too bad won't see them at the Clash, they would definitely turn some heads there!

Sounds like a barn burner tonight. Two very good teams.

We celebrated our family xmas tonight and had to miss it.

Yeah, I would like to see them there too. But they should make some more noise this year at the Rumble...

Well Mr. Pick. Correct me if I am wrong....I believe you homer team Scott West is the only team from 2AA that is entered. So, to humor you, lets just the entire team of Scott West.

I do not want to take anything away from Scott West, they are a terrific team and have a great line-up. My hat is off to the wrestlers, coaches, and supporters because they do put in the time and commitment to the sport. But, both Delano and New Prague will also be at the Rumble so 2AA will be well represented.

Griffin Parriott (120) will be really enteresting to watch. Also, James Berg (126) missed out of going to State last year as an 8th grader by thinnest of margins. He lost to Aaron Sweeney 3-2 in the finals and Matt Lloyd 2-1 in the wrestle backs in which the score was still tied 1-1 after the the double overtime and Matt was awarded the point because by the flip of the coin he was in the up position for the 8th period and James was in the up position in the 9th period. Morgan Parriott (145) has a strong chance to be in the medal count as well. Nathan Preston (220) and Logan Giles (182) just may turn some heads.

Nick Knutson (106) and Richie Rienartz (132) should also do big things at the rumble for New Prague

Out of 28 wrestlers, there are still 18 that remain in competition for a metal. Hopefully the guys can come back strong in the wrestlebacks. It was too bad that Nick Dvorak and Miles Hammerlund were in the same braket and had to go against each other. Nick is a really strong wrestler. Good luck tommorrow!

It is also important that we do not forget the work and time that the JV wrestler contribute to the team and program. JV is probably the most underappreciated role but these are the future of the program. There are still 20 wrestlers on the JV side of the dome that remain in competition with four assured a 6th place finish or better.

Congrats to Scott West....2nd year in a row as champions of the ROR. Great work boys.

I felt that they would have more kids in the final championship round.

Outstanding performance. I am impressed.

What happened to Hammerlund? Will he be ok?
I heard that he was walking to the bus from the hotel and twisted his knee or ankle that friday morning heading to the Fargo Dome. OUCH! I am not positive but that is what I heard from somebody on that friday at the Rumble.
He was walking around some, but limped a bit, so I'm guessing he'll be out for a little while maybe but it doesn't look too terrible! Hopefully he gets back soon

I was looking at the rankings this afternoon and I noticed that 4 out of the 10 ranked in AA at 132 our from 2AA. I dont know if Fogarty or Hartwig are certified for 32 though?
Either way it is about 3 deep at every weight. Tough section year after year!

Section 2AA might have a few deep weights this year, but the section has been much deeper in the past with the likes of Blue Earth, Jackson County, etc.
I wrestled in section 2AA in the early 2000's and most weights had 5/6/7 guys at each weight with 25+ wins. Good teams left the section and some once above average teams have fallen off.

Everyone in the top 4-5 of every bracket has over 21 wins last year except for 135 and 152. That seems pretty solid to me. A hand full of the brackets had the top 4 placers with 30+ wins

I know some years it may be tougher at some spots, but I know this section RARELY has a down year.

One team I have seen a couple of times this year and have been impressed with is the Saint Peter Saints. They only have one senior in the line-up, but still have varsity tested kids at most weights. Don't get me wrong, thier not world beaters but are a steadly improving team. Another team with with room for improvement is Mankato East as they too only have one senior in the starting line-up and lot of underclassmen gaining varsity experience.

Wow, add NP to that list of "only one senior" list. Three teams in a section only losing a combined three wrestlers in a year. This is good for the competition of this section in the future.

To add to next years competitve theme, Scott West loses 12 seniors this year and only 3 juniors to replace them next year.

I see the whole section opening up next year.

Through 170....
D-T has 5 champs (120, 132, 138, 152, 170)
SW has 1 champ (not sure who)

SW is leading team points
(source from D-T, not sure results are accurate :-)
