That is what they did to be able to fill a team. The difference is the dedication of kids, coaches and community that make them winners. They have developed a winning program and haters like you come on here to try and convince someone without any facts or information to back what your are saying.

If schools have issues fielding a team, I have no issue with them going into a coop to do so. I would rather see 2 or more towns come together to field a competitive team than go watch 4 to 5 forfeits.

I am from Jordan (Tim Derochie). Who are you and where are you from? Instead of hiding behind an alias, say who are and where you are from. If you are not from these communities, you have no right to ask for a 3rd winter sport to be added. If you are from here, go out and get community support to add another sport like what was done to add trap shooting.

MSHSL bylaws don't allow for two "AA" schools (by administrative region, meaning top 128 schools enrollment-wise) to compete as a team during state tournament competition in what are essentially individual sports (gymnastics, track, golf, wrestling). The same rule applies to Jefferson/Kennedy and Richfield/Edina, though I think they did make an exception for Jefferson/Kennedy a few years ago. That exception is no longer in place.

2 vs. 3, it doesn't really matter much. You just don't want to be the 4-seed and face Scott West in the semifinals

Yeah true.
New Prague is flying under the radar right now IMO.
Taking down some good teams with NO wrestlers ranked individually.
They have a lot of guys stepping up to the plate and wrestling for their team! It's going to be a fun one to watch I'll be there! Honestly cant pick a winner between Hutch and NP yet. Barn-burner..

The 96 in your name must stand for when you were born? Hmm.. So you are what 15, maybe 16 years old.. Which means you are most likely a sophmore in high school who wrestles. But besides that, Would you mind adding yourself in this topic and explain why, at most 2 kids will make it?

Just wanting to clarify when i say a team is under the radar, I mean a TEAM that is not getting recognized for tough wins! A SOLID/good team isnt the same as a team with 5 superstars and 9 holes. Agree?
I never stated they have a team full of superstars, I said a line-up with solid wrestlers who fight for their TEAM!

And if Griffin wont place, I really hope Johnshoy can find a bracket where he can, because I believe he just got beat by Parriott? Then again thats AAA

NP has a decent team flying under the radar, yes I agree. But 3 to 5 ranked guys, really, name them.

And lets just relax a little, people make predictions on here every 10 minutes, I make one about NP and the the Trojan dads get all fired up.

And remember if you get to finals in sections, you might get shutout!!:-(

Matt is a junior and has had a nice career, however, he got his 127th win this weekend. At the Hutch tournament they announced his 125th win so maybe it was misunderstood. Anyway, I'm excited to watch the classy and talented 2AA wrestlers as they make their way through the post season. God bless and stay healthy.

PickHandzPickHandz - Every team in this state could and probably would get beaten by Scott West except for Apple Valley. So yeah nice prediction there. You must be a wiz on wrestling to know that!

I believe G Parriott, Berg, Cole, M Parriott, and Preston could be ranked. Both Parriott's and Preston were ranked and Cole and Berg just beat top 5 wrestlers last week. Not saying they ALL SHOULD, saying they ALL COULD.

Thats why people were saying and agreeing with 3-5.. ? right?


My thoughts exactly! Plus you have Richie Rienartz and Logan Giles that have a very good chance of making state. Richie's only problem is that there are about five or six other guys around that weight who each have win records well into the 20’s with another three weeks to go. Since only two kids can be sent to state for each weight, there are going to be about 3 - 4 kids at 132 and 138 sitting at home but could have done really well at state.
On a different note, I thought this discussion was on topics of interest pertaining to Section 2AA and not specifically rankings. This is not professional sports but an activity that teaches young men, and in a few cases some young women, how to push themselves both physically and mentally as an individual and as a part of a team. The real winners will be those who take those life skills and become leaders in their community, profession, and the military. There is a reason why you see so many advertisements for the Marines and Army posted on wrestling websites.

I think with the depth in section 2AA rankings will have some play into things. It does help with a seeding meeting. And, with the depth at some weights in 2AA it could make the difference of going to state and not.

Well maybe, but most of the coaches probably look at head-to-head matches together or between similar opponents, record, level of competition, etc. The rankings are usually pretty good for the top 3, but once you get down to the bottom you could probably switch a number of kids that are very close. At sections I would guess figuring out the #1, #2 or even the #3 seed is not that difficult, it's the 4-6 that people argue.
