Information keeps fans excited and engaged in the sport! With technology we the fans can keep up with this great sport just like fans keep up with basketball or football. however, the only way technology works is if everyone participates in giving the information. Its wrong that every host of the first two rounds of our section team tournament has put the individual match results up except New Prague! If some teams choose to keep their lineups secret and others, like Scott West and Hutch, put the info out for all to see the system is incomplete. Its like when some teams put their wrestlers overall records in the state program and others dont, it isnt good for fans. In my opinion, this type of behavior is selfish and not big picture minded. We as a wrestling community better start doing a better job of making our sport fan friendly or we will see a decline in excitement and that will, in turn, cause a decline in the sport. In addition, I believe the section 2AA rep that is responsible for putting all info on the website is the AD from New Prague. So no excuses. We are all excited about the semi final match between NP and Hutch but that excitement is somewhat tainted because we only have some of the info from thurs. Sorry for the rambling but I really love this sport and I, like u, want to see it thrive. These are some of the things that little by little decay our sport.

The idea that a person couldn't find a football or basketball score, and usually a detailed breakdown of the game is almost unthinkable. Yet many wrestling coaches believe that not reporting match by match breakdowns is a savvy move. But in the instant information age we live in I think that's a silly notion. Either we want our favorite sport to have mass appeal, or we don't.

Preston only win for NP and it was close down to the last 15 secs. with a score of 8 to 4 over Riker. For all the talk of how good NP is, it was put into a proper perspective tonight. NP has some decent kids but not to the level of ranked kids. NP only has 2 seniors and will be much better next year and will have ranked wrestlers and a ranked team. NP and Hutch will be the best team match at sections and I give the edge to Hutch in a close one.
