Yep....plus with the importance and stress in wrestling in the state tournament tend to slow matches down....

Good Luck team Scott West, give'm heck. I'm sure you will represent 2AA well.

Good Luck to all the 2AA individual wrestlers. Show your 2AA pride as a great section.

Sense this is the home of all 2AA.. I would like to say congratulations to all 2AA wrestlers who competed in the tournament. Big shout out to Griffin Parriott at 113, Luke Betchwars at 120, Miles Hammerlund 170, and Micheal Kroells HWT. for all making it to the finals. You all did a great job!

Thats fine, I will honor my bet to the original person I bet. Maybe make a state placing bet. Either way, I get to watch my team on Thursday while you sit at home.
Big Poppa - good thing you are not a professional gambler -because you would now be 0-2 on your bets! Parriott placed ahead of Siegle again - at the state tournament. :)

First congrats to Griffin and Zack on good tourney. Griffen already had my respect, he just continues to elivate it.

Pick you are a master at "trying" to spin things to your favor in an argument. The term is trying. They did not meet and Zach had the luck of the draw in getting Gliva first. Before you toot your horn, maybe you should at least keep you facts remotely straight. And for the record, my day job includes catching people trying to spin in there favor and I am damn good at it. I expect people to call me out on BS. Expect me to continue to call you out.

But - other than the champion - the overall tougher side of the bracket was the top side

Gliva over Parriott (bottom side of bracket)

Maderfield over siegle (Winner top side of Bracket)
Oftedahl over Aho (winner top side of Bracket)

So all things being equal - Siegle would have not beat Manderfield - so he would have not been in the finals if he was on the other side of the bracket. So talk about spinning all you want - the facts speak for themselves. If he could have beat Manderfield you have great logic - but it did not happen.

Zach and Thristin exchanged wins this week and if they were on the same side of the bracket you have no way of knowing what that result would have been. Just like you and I don't know what the next meeting between Zack and Griffin will be considering the both won OT matches with each other. Again calling BS on your opinion being thrown out as fact. You want to play this game, bring it on. I am siting on a beach in Jamaica drinking rum drinks for the rest of week. Time is on my side.

You missed a important part of my post "with all things being equal" - meaning if the same loses you had at the individual were in a different spot on bracket - he still would not have been in the finals. I will type slower next time. If you are stating that Zach placed below Griffin because of bracketing - Zach had a opportunity be in a better situation - that decision was made 1 week ago. If you want to argue who is better - they are both good wrestlers, Griffin was just better when it mattered for Individual - and Zach was better when it mattered for team

Kroells is a freaking beast and love how Griffen does not give a crap who you are or how old you are, he WILL rip your head off.
Griffen might be the only one from New Prague who doesn't gives a rats ass about rankings!!! ;)

I think you guys are arguing a mute point!! Griffin and Siegle are as equally matched as possible. A person trying to say who would win a rematch between these two would be nearly impossible. Just thinking one of these guys could have stayed home is just plan crazy! I would have loved to see what Elsenpeter would have done in this tournament.

Every wrestling style matches up different with every wrestler. Griffin never wrestle Manderfield, Siegle destroyed Oftedahl, Griffin beat Oftedahl by 1, Siegle went 1-1 with Manderfeild and Griffin, Griffin lost by 2 to Gliva, Siegle lost by 1. What does that all mean? Not a thing besides this was one of the toughest brackets in state and both kids in the section places! One 2nd, one 4th!

OK, lets start the 2013 debate...who will be section 2AA champs in 2013?

Who will take team state in 2013?

Here is mine...SW for 2AA in a close fight and KM unseats Simley in a close one.
Who else wishes to predict??.....come on stick your necks out. Go for it.!!!

I'm pretty sure St. Peter is not going to win state. I think that either Hutch or NP will be the section chanps next year. But when you think about it... NP deffinetly have the advantage over Hutch next year in a way because the one senior that was on their varsity team the whole year for NP actually lost his match against Hutch (Cole).

Does anyone know of any additions to any 2AA teams this year? I'm not trolling and I don't have any motive for the question other than this thread has been kinda slow in a year where several teams may have a shot of coming out of the section.

Just some general observations- The middle weights (152, 160) should be relatively open which will provide an opportunity for some good JV guys that were behind some excellent wrestlers last season. No surprise but Scott West remains very strong in the bottom half of their roster. Waconia will be very tough in the top weights. There is an incredible number of very good wrestlers between 113 and 145 so it will be interesting to see how much these kids grow and where they will end up this season. The following list is definitely not complete. My apologize if I mistakenly missed somebody that went to State last year or have the incorrect result. Please keep in mind, this is for discussion purposes only and not a ranking. Looking forward to a great season!

106
Ben Kelvington (9) Scott West
Jonah Johnson (8) Montgomary
Jacob Jewett (11) Glencoe

113
David Flynn (10) Scott West (State -DNP)
Jackson Sweeney (9) Watertown (State - DNP)
Micael Donnay (11) Glencoe

120

Zach Siegle (11) Scott West (State - 4th)
Matt Elsenpeter (12) Watertown

126

Jacob Steinbauer (11) Waconia (State -DNP)
James Berg (10) New Prague

132
Hunter Retzlaff (11) St. Peter (State - 5th)
Luke Zilverberg (12) Scott West
Aaron Sweeny (11) Watertown

138
Mason Brownlee (11) Montgomery (State - 5th)
Mitchell Hartwig (12) Glencoe
Richard Reinartz (11) New Prague
