I think Watertown is going to win. Their top weights are tough with Tores dropping down!
How did the GSL and Hutch match go? They wrestled tonight right?

Hutchinson is looking tough as well. Gosh the top 4 will be crazy this year.
I don't think seedings even matter much after seeing how close these teams are. Hutchinson got beat pretty bad by Scott West earlier in the season but they were out a few tough guys.
2AA hasn't been this competitive in years!

1. New Prague
2. Watertown
3. Scott West
4. Hutchinson

These will most certainly be the seeds for team sections after tonight's Watertown win over SW!

Team sections are going to be insane this year!! Every dual I have went to so far involving the top 5 teams in the section the gyms have been packed and load. Last night’s dual with SW and Watertown was brutal on the fan side of it. I hope the ref had an escort out to his vehicle. Come early on February 16th as it will be tough to find a seat!!

Alright now that we are starting to see what weights people are going to be at, any body want to take a shot at top 2 from each weight? I'd start but I really don't have much info on any teams from section 2

Off the top of my head...

Derek Dahlke - SW for 170 - I don't think he has lost to anyone in 2AA (not certain on that).

Matt Elsenpeter - WTM for 126. He will be in the mix for 126.

Austin Torres - WTM at 195

If Hammerlund is at 170, I suspect Derek Dahlke (SW) will be in the 2nd or 3rd spot.

Its possible that is where Derek could be, but I thought Pick was looking for those who would be in the mix. Derek will be in the mix.

You're right Dahlke for sure! And there are more that could take a spot at 195 but with so many tough guys I just picked my top 2. And also I only put Berg instead of Matt because he beat him. It could go either way the next few times they may meet up. Thanks for the help!

Trust me if he asked for top 4 at each weight all these guys would probably be on the list! But he asked for top 2 and those were MY picks. I'd like to hear others though :) At least 2 of the 4 ranked from 2AA at 195 won't go. It's tough top to bottom this year!

At 126 Berg pinned elsenpeter pretty easily I don't know if he can pin him again but he will beat him again. Also zilverberg not placing top 2? He already destroyed Madson earlier in the year. I don't even think that Schmidt has had a weigh in at 152 after the first of the year. I think that dahlke can beat Connor. Jakes just beat clouse on Friday night. I know benzkofer is ranked the highest of 220 in 2AA but I saw him earlier in the year and i was not impressed I think it's hands down that Preston will win the bracket. I think that trnka will be the other one making it.

It is surprising how little respect watertown has received most of the year with rankings, and how Hutch hasn't wrestled many teams in the section and they get ranked high all year. Once again by the predictions it seems like Hutch is getting most respect!!

may be some consideration for Fogarty going 160 - as I see Mack Short now wrestling 145 and Jake wrestling 152 - if he is thinking of winning state. Thinking Jake could win it at either.

152
Hartwig

160
Fogarty
Schmidt

I don't know I've seen those top 4 guys wrestle through out the year at 160 so i don't think it is a shoe in to win state at 160!!

Looking at the projected weights for some wrestlers 145 could get pretty interesting with Madson, Zilverberg, and Brownlee at 138 and Fogarty, Schmidt, and Hartwig at 152, and Parriott the only one ranked at 145 but now Hartwig. We might be seeing some wrestlers going up from 138 and going down from 152.

Who knows if both Fogerty and Schmidt go up to 160, 152 might be wide open if Hartwig goes down to 145.

Fogarty just beat the #1 ranked AA 160 (Brandon Ayers - WEP) on Thursday 5-2.

He has wrestled most duals at 160, so I can't say if that would be an option for individuals or not, but it certainly sets the stage for a run at that weight.

I see possible scenario below

138
Zilverberg
Brownlee
(possibly Madsen)

145
Madsen
Parriott

152
Hartwig (toss up after that)

160
Fogarty
Schmidt

Joe Heinz from New Prague could be a real surprise at 152. He has come a long way for only his third year. When he stays focused he is really tough.

Reinartz has wrestled at 152 so far but I do agree that Heinz has come through at 160 as a key wreslter.

I just don't see the point of Hartwig cutting his butt of to get weigh ins at 145 and not wrestle it for sections. He is a good wrestler that has beaten some really good kids this year like Trembly
