I just don't see the point of Hartwig cutting his butt of to get weigh ins at 145 and not wrestle it for sections. He is a good wrestler that has beaten some really good kids this year like Trembly

he is very good ! i think!

Four and a half years and over a quarter of a million views for this thread, that's pretty impressive! I'd hate to know how many of those views are mine.

I don't see the point of anyone cutting their butt off. It probably only weighs 6 pounds or so, and you could never sit down again.

Went to the meet of Shakopee and Np and Simley. Great meet between Shakopee and NP. I want to say that the refereeing was bad, They were not consistent and made bad calls on both side of the mat. The AD from Shakopee should take note on the next time before hiring him again...
Nice win for Alex Lloyd agains Arredondo

What was the score on the Lloyd/Arrendondo match? Any good matches on NP vs Shakopee Dual.

I noticed NP FF 220 and 285 to Simley was that due to match count issues?

Im pretty sure Sweeney will be going 132 and Reinhartz will be going 152, im sure it will all depend on how team sections go. No one will really know what weight everyone will be at until individual seeding meeting.

My guess at the seedings would be as followed. Hutch is kind of in a tough spot since the only top 4 team they wrestled was Scott West and they took a hard loss to them. This section is really tough, when you have a team in the Lean and mean seeded 6th, and other teams like TCU that has been turning it on and are probaly close to .500 seeded maybe 8 or 9th!

1-New Prague
2-Watertown-Mayer/Mayer Lutheran
3-Scott West
4-Hutchinson/Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart
5-Glencoe-Silver Lake/Lester Prairie
6-Waconia
7-Saint Peter
8-Mankato West
9-TCU
10-Delano
11-Mankato East
12-New Ulm

Its hard to believe that one of these might not make it to state this year! Zilverberg, Madson, Parriott, Brownlee, Hartwig.

Zilverberg- After placing 5th at state as a 10th grader, and not making it to state as a 11th grader he has been on a mission this whole year!! Look for Zilverberg to make a run to be a state champion at 138!

Madson- After placing 3rd at state as a 10th grader, and injury defaulting out of the state tourney last year, he has been on a mission all year but seems like he might of hit a wall and plateaued, look for him to take his chances at 145 for his senior campaign.

Brownlee- After placing 5th as a 9th grader and placing 5th again last year at state, he is on a mission this year to be on the top of the podium with Zilverberg. Look for him to stay at 138 and make his 3rd straight state tourney appearence and place top 3 at state.

Parriott- After making his first state tourney appearence last year look for Parriott to make his second trip to state any way he can. He has turned it on this year and has kept a lot of close matches with great wrestlers at Christmas tourney, ROR, and winning the first couple peiords with top wrestlers in Zilverberg and Short. Has a big win over Brownlee. Will stay at 145 and fight tooth and nail to make a big run to get on podium at state.

Hartwig- After making state as a 10th grader and and missing out last year, he is on a mission. After a big win over #2 ranked Jordan Hanan of Annandale/Maple Lake last weekend look for Hartwig to stay at 145 and take his luck against Parriott and Madson. Will stay at 145 and miss out on the big show.

These are just predictions, and just a guess what everyone will do. With that all said, I think Fogerty and Schmitts will be going up to 160 for sections and state which will leave 152 wide open at sections.

I also believe Brownlee went as an 8th grader(not sure).

Good insight Jared. Going to be a meat grinder at 145 for state - it appears that another ranked kid from Benilde at 152 is now down to 145 - I assume avoiding Jake Short. I believe Zilverberg is a locked and loaded and staying 138. Parriott, Hartwig, and Madsen I do not know. It appears 145 will be tougher at state overall - but one BIG obstacle to winning it all at 152 also.

Forgarty and Schmidt - probably making the right decision if going 160, and Madsen will have to decide if he has a better chance going up and wrestling kids a little bigger then him @ 145, or sticking with 138 (where he would be bigger). He definitely would be on the small end at State.

Both Parriott and Hartwig have wrestled matches at 145 & 152 - so assuming both of them are eligible for either weight. Brownlee I would assume, would be at 138 for sure - do not know if Brownlee and Madsen wrestled this year, Brownlee and Parriott did, do not know of any other match ups between these kids this year.

Hartwig would probaly get the #1 seed. I believe he beat Parriott last time they meet up last year and has probaly the best record. With that being said he was the #1 seed with a 34-3 record last year coming into sections and lost to the #2 and #3 seeds with 7 and 11 loses.

3 Girls- I guess it would be better to say that all 5 are on a mission this year as all but 1 are seniors.
