New rankings out. The 4, 5, 6 and 7 spots all go to Section 2. This has got to be the toughest this section has been in way over a decade!
Great job from coaches to wrestlers to fans this year!
Now the fun begins.

PickHandz: I've been watching this thread for just the reason you mentioned. However, regarding the "Toughest in way over a decade" part, I must say about 5 years ago 2AA was stacked as well. I think SW was #1, JCC was #2, Tricity(then MLLC) was like #4, and a few others WMML and Delano were right there to. I came down just to watch that section tourney. SW got beat in the finals to JCC and JCC then lost to Perham first round at state. If I recall right, there were also several individual finals at sections that re-matched at state as well. Valek/Selly, Timmerman/Friedrichs Rienertz/wetzel, Maybe more. There were certainly more place winners out of 2AA than any other section. Section 2AA has always been deep. Should be another interesting postseason. I know I'll be down to watch once again.

This year is extremely tough but the year you meantioned PickHandz was stacked! I think there were many section final rematches in the state finals. I know Valek/Stewart, Timmerman/Von Ohlen, Friedrichs/Lavassuer were all rematches. Our section had 9 in the finals with 5 state champs! WOW

Its hard to believe that one of these might not make it to state this year! Zilverberg, Madson, Parriott, Brownlee, Hartwig.

Zilverberg- After placing 5th at state as a 10th grader, and not making it to state as a 11th grader he has been on a mission this whole year!! Look for Zilverberg to make a run to be a state champion at 138!

Madson- After placing 3rd at state as a 10th grader, and injury defaulting out of the state tourney last year, he has been on a mission all year but seems like he might of hit a wall and plateaued, look for him to take his chances at 145 for his senior campaign.

Brownlee- After placing 5th as a 9th grader and placing 5th again last year at state, he is on a mission this year to be on the top of the podium with Zilverberg. Look for him to stay at 138 and make his 3rd straight state tourney appearence and place top 3 at state.

Parriott- After making his first state tourney appearence last year look for Parriott to make his second trip to state any way he can. He has turned it on this year and has kept a lot of close matches with great wrestlers at Christmas tourney, ROR, and winning the first couple peiords with top wrestlers in Zilverberg and Short. Has a big win over Brownlee. Will stay at 145 and fight tooth and nail to make a big run to get on podium at state.

Hartwig- After making state as a 10th grader and and missing out last year, he is on a mission. After a big win over #2 ranked Jordan Hanan of Annandale/Maple Lake last weekend look for Hartwig to stay at 145 and take his luck against Parriott and Madson. Will stay at 145 and miss out on the big show.

These are just predictions, and just a guess what everyone will do. With that all said, I think Fogerty and Schmitts will be going up to 160 for sections and state which will leave 152 wide open at sections.

This sounds like the 135# group in 2004 for Sec. 2AA - at least 4 top contenders if I remember!?!?

Connor beat Torres 11-10 on a late stalling call. Some other good individual matches as well.
Good luck to the final four on Saturday!

Going to be a great semis and finals in 2AA. It certainly is the most evenly balanced section which makes for some great matchups. Predicting a lower seed wins in the semis and the number one seed doesn't make the trip to the X. But, however it turns out it will be worth the price of admission so better get there early. Probably will see some closer and more entertaining matches than the first round of the AA state tourney.

Should be a great weekend of wrestling. SW has been the routine state tourny entrant from this region. When is the last time Watertown or NP has made it to the state tourney as a team? Hutch made it in '01, '02, '03 in AAA, so it's been awhile for them as well.
