Kass and Westerlund would make a difference at the State Team tournament.

I think Kass and Westerlund are very talented wrestlers, but I am glad to see NP do it without them. They were not happy with what was going on at NP....for what reason, I know not! They didn't see the potential and dedication the rest of they guys saw and knew was there. Sometimes the grass is not always greener on the other side. The way I look at it is, you need to work harder to keep your grass green, thhat way the grass on the other side is never greener.

I think the families, wrestlers, and coaches who are currently involved in this program are all going in the right direction. It's fun to say, "what could have been". However, I think it is a heck of a lot more fun to say "what is"! Good luck to the Trojan community and program as they continue to work hard and head in the right direction.

How tough would NP be if Kass and Westerlund didn't have to move as well? Wow they must have a great structure in place to be able to lose 2 great talents and still put together a team like this. Congrats.
What about the Underhill's Andy graduated now but not sure if Billy quite or what happened to him, I remember watching Andy in a NP singlet on varsity. I believe there was a 106 pounder that moved to Farmington too, last year.

Wow, great matchup with NP and Hutch that should have been the section final.
Agreed!! Hey Mcrow, told you this summer that SW wouldn't make it to state! SW was clearly the 4th best team in the gym at WM on Sat nite! My prediction was NP and Hutch beat them, and you said you live in Hutch and there was not a way those teams could beat SW. Looks like you need to walk down the street and watch the local boys once. Sat nite was a fantastic time, to bad 3 teams don't make it to state. Spread those three teams in the 5 weakest sections in this state in AA and they all go to state. Great wrestling by all four teams, nothing to be ashamed of by the losers.

That 106 pounder would be Jacob Gabbord. And yes NP would be stacked with ask of these wrestlers mentioned, it really says something about those kids NP kids though that they can still shine without them!

Trying to figure out the 5 teams that you think could be replaced by WM, Hutch and SW. Not taking anything away from the exciting section tourney! I enjoyed listening to it on the radio. I just don't see 5 teams on the state tourney roster that I think would obviously lose to the afore mentioned. I would throw Becker into the mix of teams that would have likely been at the X if in a different section. NLS for about the last 3 years too.

Dohkay. Bold statement. Great teams in section 2, but maybe settle down a bit and quit acting like 7AAA.

7AAA obviously has STMA and Cambridge.. but they are not as solid throughout as the section use to be 2-3 years ago..

What I'm saying is stop acting like you cornered the market on great teams and that good wrestling doesn't exist elsewhere.

Underhills were at Burnsville
I know you have to go back a ways, but before Andy wrestled for Burnsville, he wrestled at New prague, I believe he left as a 9th grader. He did have a couple varsity wins on the New Prague roster.

But like said earlier lets focus on the future, as those guys are not with the team anymore.

Section 2AA is the toughest section in the state
Maybe not the toughest but the most balanced! To tell you the truth any of the top 5 teams from section 2AA could of made the trip to state this year. Some could argue that section 1AA is the toughest, maybe not with all high calibar teams but with one of the best teams in the state in the section, and possible the most individual state champions in that section.

Wow, Last night in Watertown. That is all I can say....... 4 great teams, The battles were awesome.
New Prague brought it's game in the Championship. I truely believe that the 15th man was a factor also. There fans where behind them, screaming , chearing, and supporting them every match. The red T-Shirts had a statement on the back "ON A MISSION" That was true last night. Congrads to New Prague.
I was impressed that np had a student section for a saturday tourney over an hour away. Should be interesting to see the crowd at the X

I still!! don't know if any one can beat Scottwest! Who has a chance, wait who thinks they have a chance? I know their's a lot of very talented kid's but TEAM takes more than individual talent.
Who has done their homework?
Who has brought in new coaches?
Who has changed their training technique's?
Who has change from weight cutting to modern weight management technique's
Who has found a positive way to motivate?
And just who is still going threw the motions? while blowing smoke out their, well you know what I mean!
Just some questions
That's good, please think that everyone else is just sitting around doing nothing. Scott West's days of ruling Section 2AA is coming to an end. Every year they will be challenged by one or more of the other schools in the section.
I will believe it when i see it...
I guess this would be the time to say......I told you so!

106- Jewett dominates
113- Flynn, followed by? Dundas from Mankato?
120- Parriott is pretty dang tough
126- Siegle may be favorite, toss up with Elenspeter
132-Steinbauer closely followed by Sweeney
138-Zilverberg and Brownlee should be good final
145, 152, 160- Parriot, Hartwig, Fogarty make trips to state. Weights unsure? Probably in that order
170- Hammerlund, followed by Connor?
182- I like Torres here. But Bullock is tough
195- Jakes and Jordahl very similar. I see both placing at state but Jakes winning this head to head.
220- Preston followed by Trinka. Both tough wrestlers.
285- Franklin, followed by ? Lots of names here, trip to state up for grabs...

Listening on the radio, but the Kvam match sounded like a Lateral Drop for 4 to win against Sweeney. It didn't sound like Sweeney was exactly dominating the match, more like he was trying to hold on to win by 2 when he was thrown.

Like I said, I wasn't there. Does that describe what really happened?

For his sake, I hope he keeps that kind of performance, because that doesn't help a kid that already has a small gas tank.

Not sure I'd say Kvam dominated the entire match, but he certainly in in control for most of it. He scored a takedown in the first and gave up a late escape. In the second Sweeney scored two (can't remember if it was a takedown or reversal). Sweeney led 3-2 after two. Kvam certainly dominated the third period. He chose to start neutral and got the takedown and two back points to make it 6-3, and the other point came on a penalty for a 7-3 win. It certainly was not expected and it sure took the home crowd out of it while getting the New Prague team and fans fired up. Score was tied at the time, and it was a start of six straight wins for NP.
