So, do we have any predictions for the upcoming free UFC card on Saturday night? Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin = Silva... Irvin has power, we've seen that. I just think Anderson is too much, a very well-rounded fighter. He has great Jiu-Jitsu, and magnificent stand-up. Unanimous Decision. Brandon Vera Vs. Reese Andy = Vera easily? haven't heard much on this Andy kid, but Vera looks to be a true contender if he gets his training up. TKO due to Sub. Hermes Franca Vs. Frank Edgar = GREAT FIGHT! I'm most excited for this fight. Edgar has proven he can have a chance in any fight, and Franca kept toe to toe with Sherk. Franca by Split Decision. Cain Velasquez Vs. Jake O'Brien = O'Brien? To be honest, i haven't watched enough for me to judge either of them. It looks as if Cain is a newer guy at 3-0, so I'm giving O'Brien the edge for experience. Unanimous Decision. Anthony Johnson Vs. Kevin Burns = Johnson. Anthony Johnson showed us he can pound the crap out of the guy across from him when he dismantled Tommy Speer. Although less experienced, I see Johnon KO'ing this guy. KO in the 3rd. Jesse Taylor Vs. CB Dollaway = Dollaway. I can only hope. I don't understand how Dana is really "sticking it to him" and helping Jesse "learn his lesson" if he just puts him on a card, a little over a month from the Finale. I hope Dollaway beats him senseless. Jesse is strong, and has decent GnP, but i see Dollaway being too technical for him. Dollaway is a very well-rounded figher, and frankly, i just have a personal preference for him over JT as well. JT $ will hopefully come with his A-game and be prepared for "The Doberman". Dollaway via Sub in 3rd. Now, let's chat. |

Silva vs. Irvin = Silva will end this fight in the 1st Franca vs. Edgar = Edgar, stoppage in the 2nd Vera vs. Andy = I am pulling for Andy the wrestler and because I can't stand Vera Cain vs. O'brien = Cain, stoppage in the 2nd Johnson vs. Burns = Johnson KO in the 2nd Taylor vs. Dollaway = Dollaway well-rounded, thats a joke right?? I'll take Dollaway in a snoozer, neither guy has a gas tank. |

I like Silva in this one, but some doubt is creeping into my mind. My emotional side feels Silva is almost unbeatable. I love his stand-up and his jiu-jitsu is great. I've written on this site before that I think Anderson Silva is the best pound-for-pound MMA guy on the planet. But my intellectual side is thinking that the old PRIDE guys just aren't that good. Rampage, Cro-cop, Henderson.... Is Anderson Silva the next boot to drop on the PRIDE guys? I wonder. Maybe the return to 205 will cause Silva problems. I don't know. I'm still taking Silva by submission, but I just don't know... |

I'm having the same feeling. I just hope he doesn't drop. The question is, if he wins, who next? 205 or 185? |

Silva Vera Franca Obrien Dollaway I had a feeling Jesse Taylor would be back. He golden showered himself, and for that fact I don't think I'll ever have it in me to be a fan of his. |

I don't know anything about either of these guys in MMA, but Cain Velasquez was a pretty solid college wrestler. He could never get past Cole Konrad. O'Brien has a lot of experience and I suspect he'll beat Velasquez, unless Cain lands a bomb. Velasquez may be on the card for the Mexican demographic. O'Brien by TKO. |

I had forgotten that O'Brien wrestled a couple years at Purdue. Cole Konrad pinned him, whereas Konrad's matches with Velasquez were usually close, but of course, that means nothing for Saturday's fight. |

I had not known that Tim Credeur and Cale Yarborough were also fighting (from TUF) I liked Tim and thought he was a humorous character. Nice to see him in the UFC. |

I'm thinking Vera easily on this one too. I think they gave him an easy one in Andy to help him back on his feet. I remember Reese Andy from his days wrestling at Wyoming, but that was a time when I didn't get to see much college wrestling so I don't remember much. I'll be cheering for Andy, but I doubt it will do him much good.
This could easily be the best fight of the night. I really like Frankie Edgar in the Octagon and I think his time is right. He beats Franca tomorrow pretty good. |

Holy Crap. I finally got around to watching Anderson Silva's fight Saturday and all I can say is Holy Crap. That was impressive. |

I agree, Silva is a complete animal. It would be good if he would stay at this weight...no one can touch him at middleweight...but Sliva vs Wanderlei, Liddell, or Griffin would be classics.... I was really disappointed with Vera's performance however....it appeared he was fighting not lose...a really boring fight that he truly should have dominated. |

I guess Vera showed me all I was expecting from him. I normally don't use Vera and exciting in the same sentence. I think the UFC was just trying to get him an easy win and that's what they got. In retrospect, I bet they are kicking themselves for putting that on the card. Frankie Edgar was impressive. I'm a big Edgar fan to begin with, so I'm a little bias, but he looked good. All the aspects of his game looked pretty solid. |
