Fedor is an absolute beast...just before he went out they showed him shadow boxing....I couldn't believe the speed and power he showed...He used the exact same combination he was warming up with back stage to floor Sylvia with...He is the absolute best at what he does...no questions asked!! Rothwell got exposed....Arlovski really dominated the entire match. Rizzo against Barnett was a great match ....Barnett avenged his prior loss to RIZZO and looked impressive doing it... I thought Lindland vs Negao was going to be an exciting match up...I was wrong....Lindand knocked him down early and then secured a guillotine choke...but couldn't finish Negao...Lindland expended all his energy trying to finish this and truly payed for it....Although Lindland won by unanimous decision, but there was very little excitement generated in this match. All the other matches were boring...Whitehead continues not to impress, as he lost a boring decision to Babalu...Dewees shouldn't have been in the same ring with Nogueira It looks like the Belfort and Martin fight would have been a good one to watch, but it was not televised. |

Fedor needs to get pulled into the UFC. No questions asked. Dana needs to get ahold of himself and do whats best for the Org and MMA in general. Nog-Belfort and some of the "undercard" were supposed to be on FSN, right? Baseball was on. I was disappointed haha. From what i've heard, people have been normally enthused about this. Was it worth your money, XHD? |

You know, I am a complete MMA addict....I look at MMA, kinda like most poeple look at pizza or barbeque, its kinda of hard to mess it up
:D Watching FEDOR completely obliterate Silvia was worth the price in itself....its not because I have anything against Sylvia...I was kind of rooting for him...ya know him being the underdog and all.... But Fedor demonstrated unmatchable speed/power in that 5 punch combination that just can't be measured....Sylvia is no tomato can...he is definitely ranked top ten in the world. Barnett's and Rizzo's fight was very entertaining as well. They both were in the fight right until the end. Barnett's also a great interivew....Big John asked Barnett after the fight who he wanted to fight next...Rothwell, Fedor, or Arlovski...without pausing to reflect he said "They are all world class.....but they ain't me"...beauty!! Everyting else was subpar.... |

Normally guaranteed upfront money doesn't need to be reported to the state athletic commission. My guess is that Emelianenko got a ton of cash as a signing bonus. I re-watched the first Emelianenko-Nogueira fight this morning. Amazing stuff. Fedor is incredible. Aside from Nogueira, I can't think of anyone in the UFC that would even give him an interesting match. |

CSAC: Sylvia, Arlovski Lead Affliction Paydays http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/csac-sylv...n-paydays-13758 The latest addition to Tim Sylvia (Pictures)s bank account could go a long way towards dulling the residual pain left over from the two-time UFC heavyweight champions loss to Fedor Emelianenko (Pictures) at Affliction: Banned last Saturday in Anaheim, Calif. Sylvia raked in an event-high 800,000 dollars for his first fight outside the UFC since May 2005, according to figures released Monday by the California State Athletic Commission. His bout against Emelianenko for the vacant World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts heavyweight resulted in his stunning 36-second submission defeat to the stoic Russian. The 32-year-old Pat Miletich (Pictures) protιgι made nearly three times as much as Emelianenko, who was paid 300,000 dollars for little more than half a minute of work. In fact, Emelianenko's purse was third-highest among fighters who competed on the card, though the Russian likely earned additional and substantial compensation that did not have to be disclosed to the CSAC. Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski (Pictures) earned 750,000 dollars, a 250,000-dollar win bonus included. Four other fighters -- Josh Barnett (Pictures) (300,000), Matt Lindland (Pictures) (300,000), Ben Rothwell (Pictures) (250,000) and Vitor Belfort (Pictures) (140,000) -- banked six figures. Lindland and Belfort were awarded 75,000-dollar and 70,000-dollar bonuses respectively. All told, the Affliction promotion doled out just a shade more than 3.3 million dollars in salary. A final attendance of 14,832 at the Honda Center resulted in a 2,085,510-dollar gate for the promotion, according to the CSAC. That figure will help offset expenses Affliction incurred paying the 20 mixed martial artists who competed and two others -- Justin Levens (Pictures) and Ray Lizama (Pictures) -- who did not, though the ultimate financial success of the show will depend on the number of pay-per-view buys it brought in. Remaining fighter salaries for Affliction: Banned are listed below: Renato Sobral (Pictures) 90,000 (includes 30,000 win bonus) Paul Buentello (Pictures) 80,000 (includes 20,000 win bonus) Pedro Rizzo (Pictures) 70,000 Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (Pictures) 50,000 Mike Whitehead (Pictures) 50,000 Terry Martin (Pictures) 30,000 Gary Goodridge (Pictures) 25,000 Mike Pyle (Pictures) 20,000 (includes 5,000 win bonus) Fabio Nascimiento 20,000 Edwin Dewees (Pictures) 15,000 Mark Hominick (Pictures) 10,000 (includes 5,000 win bonus) Savant Young 7,000 Justin Levens (Pictures) 6,000 J.J. Ambrose 5,000 Ray Lizama (Pictures) 3,000 |
